    Pat what caliber?
I have a Remington 308 that reaches out pretty good. We shoot at a 1000yd range occassionally. Steady at that range is an understatement for accuracy :)

I got my FID card in MA about 1986ish? after a 2 week back round check. A FID allows you to buy rifles or a shotgun no shorter than a 18 1/2 in barrel plus ammo.
Have to store them in the trunk while travelling to hunt or a gun range.

My first rifle was a Marlin LR22 that I bought at "Service Merchandise" for a whopping $69.99.!! Base plain wood stock
Then added a Mossburg 12 gauge pump Police issue and a Ruger 10- 22 with the 10 round clip. All these a with plain wood stock.
Wow 22 ammo was so cheap back then and would go out with friends and plink for hours. CCI stingers were the best also then, times have changed.
For less than $100 that Marlin is awsome and the Ruger at as I remember was around $140 and is so nicely balanced. So many after market products for the Ruger like a 30 round banana clip and a 50 clip but the 50 always jammed..
Can't begin to count how many rounds I shot.
Only 3 times the 22 round cases got jammed in the slide. All from the same loaded tube and same ammo. I just can't remember the brand but was told by one of my bosses at the time that ammo company was owned by Mormons?? Please no offence to those who are practicing Mormons...
A friend bought a UZI and got to keep it as far as I last heard cause of the Cinderella act. It had a really long barrel and the bolt was redesigned to keep it semi instead of the tab they used before for the safety, no shot, semi and full auto that people would just grind off. Its really more of a show piece now because it's heavy, that long awkward silly for a UZI barrel and not a full auto.
I know this thread is about a carrying but just throwing the above orut there.

They might of relaxed the laws a bit on pistol permits but in MA it was really brutal trying to get a carry permit. Home defense and pistol range a bit easier.
I do remember hearing even Police officers had a hard time getting a personal carry permit as the pistol they used for work was because of the badge they wore.
At the same time I thought that they were required to carry when of duty?

I just kept putting off trying and never went through the motions for a pistol..
If I ever did get a carry permit my first carry would be the classic snub nose 38, it just has to be:D. Grew up watching detective shows:D

On another note my brother inlaw got a carry permit because he works on a lot of Government and Military projects. Has a good collection and he swaps between a Glock 40 and a 380 pocket pistol "just can't remember the model" as carry pieces. Still fun to have access to them at a range.

That is what I carry most of the time, a Charter Arms 38 special snub nose. Always ready to go…

Nice! I would feel safe as heck with it..
Only time more capacity "might" be needed as a example is when Guy
Parquette's truck broke down when he was towing his 70 Kenne Bell car in a really seedy part of town.

I just purchased the Hellcat pro (larger size like the 365xl) because it will be ILLEGAL to purchase in my Commie state on July 1st.
Night and day difference compared to my slightly shorter standard Hellcat.

If you are looking at a 365 get the longer xl
    or
Hellcat get the longer Pro model

They are not much larger but way less muzzle flip.

A good friend died and left some firearms to his daughter. She has left them with me, so I posess them but she is the legal owner. She wants to sell a ruger 41 magnum blackhawk and asked me to help her. It has never been fired. New in the box with 50 shells. She knows any purchase will need to go through a registered dealer. How do we find buyers for this revolver?

Stellar I see the price around 750-850 range.
Find a local gun shop to assist you.
Many do consignment or will straight up buy the firearms. Especially new in box condition.

You can open a free account with Gunbroker.com and advertise all over the US for a buyer. You can then, ship the handgun via Shipmygun.com, an online shipper. They will vette you and select a licensed dealer in the area where the buyer lives. They will also send you a prepaid mailer for gun. The buyer will then, go to the gun shop and comply with whatever laws apply in his/her state. The buyer pays for the shipping, by the way.

I've done this a few times and it is very safe and easy. This way you can get a good retail price for your Ruger without having to pay the 20-30% many dealers charge for a consignment.

I'll take it to a few gun dealers around here. I suspect they will low ball the price, and I understand they need to make a profit. I guess it can't be considered new because it has already been registered even though it was never fired. I guess I will have to have my friends daughter ( the owner) open an account at Gunbroker.com. She has all the paper work needed and is executor of the will and has the death certificate. It will be no problem for her signing the revolver over at a dealer for shipment. I don't know if it is possible for me to offer it on Gunbroker.com using an account in my name or if it should be in her name. Do you think $500.00 would be too high of an asking price?

Look what I put for the price......
Registered or not --- unfired is unfired.
