Local emissions have no direct effect on temperature readings? I thought that was understood. It's global aggregate carbon emissions building up in the atmosphere that cause the heating effects.

Ahhh, but I thought I lived somewhere that was part of the globe. If the average temperature of where I live doesn't matter, where is the average temperature measured that does matter?

So what are we going to do about it. Anybody that really yells about the change in weather do you keep your airconditioner off to save everything or do you all run your air conditioners like everyone else does . All this take a lot of electric i went most of my entire life with out air anywhere, work and at home. Sure i like it just like anybody else but it drinks a lot of juice. And just like every one else I have a hard time without it if I have to work fairly hard.

We really have to rely on our children to come up with the answers to "save the World" we just can't cut off the juice and expect us all to use something else, just not gonna happen.

We have a house with 6 inch walls and over 2 feet of insulation in the attic we are all electric so we suck down the juice, our house is only 1800 sq. ft.
I run a very efficient wood burner in the winter and from that point what else are we going to do?

My feelings would not be hurt if the electric company came out and put up some solar panels and I pay for some of it and I think that is what should be done. A few on each house would be better than none at all. But you know what, it won't work because no one can make a boatload of money out of it. I was gooing to cost over 60 grand to keep the electric off from the electric company and you still had to buy at least a month worth once a year or you had to pay more for electric when you did not use the solar panels.

and if anyone thinks I am going to go out and buy an electric car in 10 years is nuts, I have 3 others to drive into the ground first.

Imagine this I saw a article where it takes 8000 gallons of water to put out a electric car fire, there ain't that much water out west anybody ever roll that around in their head?
just think, your house could catch on fire from something else and that electric car catches on fire in your garage and that sucker will guarantee to burn the entire house down then... and how much water is that going to take?

Did you know that in Siberia the temps went up to a record? guess when the last time this happened? yeah 1936 same as the problem out west back then and we have it now. Quit watering the golf course out west?
but seriously we can only do so much until something better comes along

It is just a heat wave it will go away

Went from 100 and calm to 68 and pouring rain with 60 mph winds in about 15 minutes tonight. Had flash flood warnings and the whole bit. Feeling great with the windows open, the breeze, and my fans blowing the rain smelling air on me after it not getting under 85 before 10 p.m. the last few nights. No a/c in this house, blowing the basement air upstairs with the pilot light off on the furnace usually does the trick, but it also gets into the sixties about 2 hours earlier usually. Sounds like we'll be back to normal mid next week if the sorcerer Jim Cantore is to be believed....and that's the current weather in Missoula....

Al Gore should also get significant credit for much of the pollution we have today. Look up how his family got so rich (besides politics).

I’m sure Gore wasn’t the only one who supported the creation of the internet. I believe credit goes to the thinkers, not a tag-along.

It was happening with or without Gore. Perfect example of how politicians operate to generate a cult of personality. They attach themselves to a breakthrough or movement to garner power. I wish I could type what I really think of politicians and those who worship them.

There's good ones and bad ones. The good ones are the pols that you agree with, the bad ones are those with whom you do not. It has been that way as long as Humans have socialized, and it ain't gonna change.

I have to disagree, John. There are no good ones, just some we tolerate more than others.
