i couldn't find a fiberglass hood anywhere and wasn't really digging the chrome molding in the center of the hood so i decided to put a scoop. finding a GS hood with the scoops was at a high price and that was in bad condition so i just decided to go this way. i do hope a fiberglass hood is made sometime soon though.
check out this hood it is still for sell he can send you pics fhttp://modesto.craigslist.org/pts/4441889870.htmlor sell.
Hopefully, it looks nice already but I haven't had time to put it back. The body needed plenty of work.
Hopefully in about 2 weeks. I've done the front clip body work and doors. Now for the rest, maybe like 2 more weeks and I'll put the pictures up.
Thanks. Here is another angle of it. I still need a bit of work on it. Mostly sanding. Then primer the whole car down in black.
Yeah, I think it's going to look real nice. Adds a bit of character. It's subtle and stylish. Not over the top by any means.
i just dont like raised up hood scoops never did. not trying to sound like a d!ck just saying. some people hate kentucky fried chicken too.
No worries, I understand. I don't like them past 3-1/2 inches, I also didn't like the molding that went down the middle of the hood & didn't want to put a GS hood.
Yeah I wanted to maintain the scoop as low as possible. I didn't like the look to the stock hood. I love the GS hood but I think I would have got more disappointed if I put one on and someone pointed that out to me. Maybe I'll trade for a GS some day. I'm thinking about going black everything except trim.
I had the car sit for like a year but I'm back on it. Just got it painted. Still need to water sand and buff but here's some pictures.
before i had gs hood i just took the molding off and planned to fill the holes so it looked like a gs hood without the scoop. i saw a 66 that they painted the spear and filled it so it looked like part of the metal. it was nice too.
