Ok, I realized it was possible to attach pics when posting I scanned the diagram from the service manual, as said before my pic showing the cable is not good. Anyway hope this helps.
Finally got some pictures of the lever itself. Not the best but it was dark and I was in a hurry. Please excuse the dust and dirt, I never really cleaned the interior of the car as thoroughly as I would have liked.
