They do have a hunter, they have shown her in a few shows...

I think it might be his daughter or wife, I maybe wrong on that one, I know one show they showed her looking for parts...

Plus he does a lot of the hunting himself from what I've seen...

They have shown a "parts guy" in the past shows also...

Sorry I like "Car Shows" even if there bad  . . (when your flat on your back TV is your friend)...

did not see it and now I don't care to. I do not believe that any shop can do expert restorations on every make. Its good to have Buick specific shops. I do not know how many times I have seen chev, pontiac or olds parts bought to mount to a Buick because they are all the same. yep just screw that radiator support and inner fenders on there. Muc h cheaper than buick parts listed on Ebay and CL :)

Curtis Stanley Could shed some light on the reality of the Reality TV car shows. His car was done on one.

I just watched it.......OMG very disappointed in so many ways if the guy really paid 70K for that car. With interior covers off of doors driver door was solid red and passenger 90% primer but the list of faults could go on and on to a professional. One shop i'll stay away from for sure. If you wanna see quality work look at the thread on here from the Aqua Mist kokomo buick build thats how you build a car.

The real pro shop on TV is Kendig in Utah. Coddington's shop in California was great but now history. The MOPAR guy is the Northwest is also very good. Foose is very talented but his taste is not mine.

Fast and Loud and Phantom Works do not come close.

Kindig, is pretty awesome. Graveyard cars, the owner drives me nuts but has some great talent.

Foose, I agree with you. Not my style either but he has serious talent.

Coddington, I never really liked him. The rest are meh as well.

100% agree. Dave Kindig really appears to have a great shop and it would be great to work for him.

Yep, agreed to all of the above. If I had the coin to have a custom car built (which I'm sure I never will), it'd be going to Dave Kindig at kindigit customs. That guy really has a passion for the cars, loves what he does, and doesn't seem like such a pretentious prick like so many of the others. Plus I usually like the stuff he does. Radical enough to definitely be a custom, but usually pretty tasteful. Plus I think the shop manager Kevin would be a fun guy to hang out with.

I couldnt hand my money to the phantom works guy. Not only does he come off like a total *sshole, I don't like how he ignores the customers requests for whatever he thinks he should do. The graveyard cars guy is really talented, but again I couldn't pay him due to his holier than thou attitude. He knows his mopars, no doubt, but what a prick. The gas monkey guys are entertaining at times, I'm not paying big money for them to build my car.

The fat and furious and counts customs shops I wouldn't let change the oil in my DD beater Saturn. Those guys are complete crap, period. Hacks. I hate saying that kinda thing because it makes me feel like a car snob, but seriously, those guys are made for TV clowns.

Of course it's all finally put together by some producer that wouldn't know how to use a wrench if his life depended on it, so you gotta chalk it all up to entertainment and leave it at that.

Thanks, it was the Mustang car that I was trying to remember. The guy gave the inside skinny as to what was happening and was not a happy customer at all.
The car was done for the show and not what he wanted.

Yeah I don't care for the Fantom guy. The early episodes were OK, but he is a real prick. The MOPAR guy definitely knows his stuff and is very talented. Would be hard to do business with, but hey its gonna be right when its finished. I have seen the Kindig guys a few times and I agree he seems very into the cars and like he genuinely wants it to be right for both the car and the owner. I never liked Coddington, he was an ace hole. Had pretty good taste, but I just don't think I could do business with him and his crew. As far as Count Customs I wouldn't let them work on my car, but I feel like Count himself is a pretty cool dude and that he really is passionate about what he does and seems rather knowledgeable. And I totally agree with what has been said about Foose. That guy is wicked talented, but our tastes don't align. And no way that Gas Monkey or the Fat and Furious guys would touch my car. I get a kick out of watching the Gas Monkey guys at times, but no not sending them any business.

Years ago a group of guys I worked with went out to see Coddington (2004 or so)...I asked what he was like in person, they said he was super nice and that the director made Boyd look like all he did was yell at his people. Actual mileage may vary?

I think the Mopar guy puts an act on for TV. I hear he's a pretty nice guy from what I've been told.

Haha, isn't that the truth. I had the unfortunate experience of sitting through that garbage recently and he built a Mopar with a warmed up 440 on nitrous and 4.10 gears, stripped interior, cage, slicks, etc that went low 12's. I just laughed and shook my head. At the end it raced a hellcat and was getting stomped when on the big end the hellcat totally got off it and was passed at the stripe. That show is the worst, I absolutely hate it. Watched about 1-1/4 episodes to give it a chance and realized I was miserable making myself watch it.

Yeah, you going around beating down helpless old ladies for the car they've cared for for decades! You'd be the most hated man on television! :p

You do have your own show, it's on this great channel called V8Buick. I tune in for every 'episode'! This channel has some other great shows, too. History, Philosophy, Physics, Physical Science, even some comedies, tragedies, and all sorts of dramas. It's my favorite channel.
