IN THIS CORNER all the way from Mishawaka, Indiana, the defending record holder driving the mighty 1969 L88 Vette -Terry Pennington!
AND IN THIS CORNER straight from the streets of the motor city, driving the sinister 1969 black HEMI Road Runner- the challenger Dave Dudek!
These two have met in the ring before. It was less than one year ago when Dave Dudek broke the long standing 10.59 FAST record. As if he were driving a fence post into the ground, he kept pounding the record lower and lower with every pass. When the smoke cleared 10.40 was the time to beat. On a fast pass in Virginia, Pennington lowered the record a full tenth to 10.30.

So here we are- these heavy hitters have had the whole winter to prepare for this rematch. Dudek, thirsty to reclaim what he once possessed and Pennington, eager to defend what is his. This is heads up muscle car drag racing. One man has to win and one man has to lose. One thing is for sure, these two competitors are gonna come out with ALL BARRELS BLAZING. Whos it gonna be?

On April 24th and 25th these two and other top FAST competitors will head for Pennsylvanias Dutch country to race on the legendary Maple Grove track surface. If names like Cobra Jet, Ram Air II, Hemi, Super Duty, W30, Six Pack, L88, Stage One, Max Wedge, Boss and Ram Rod mean something to you, then you cant miss this. All cars beautifully restored racing on skinny reproduction tires HEADS UP just like on the streets and strips in the 60s and70s! Make no mistake, accept no imitations. THIS is the Original Factory Appearing Stock Tire coming to a track near you!

Just might try to join you there if I have time to figure out how to put a NHRA approved roll bar in a 1970 corvette convertible. They told me to slow it down or park it in Virginia before it scattered the rearend in the finals. Any thoughts on how to get a roll bar installed would be greatly appreciated.

Rent? Nobody in Michigan has any money for anything, let alone rent a toy. Maybe Obama will take a few away from people that have extras and redistribute them to ones who need them....????:eek2:

Besides, Junior is in Illinois, not Michigan. Who knows what's next coming out of there....

OK Dave, if you can't rent see if you can't borrow. "I will gladly pay you on Tuesday for a race car today"

How does this racing series work? Big block against big block cars? Small block against small block cars? If so, is it first to the finish line or is there a handicap system like in bracket racing? Just wondering.
