That car is looking good, Steve. Running good, too. Good luck this weekend.

Went out on Sunday 65 and sunny unfortunately there was a 15-20 mile headwind . Was planning on raising the shift point to 6500 and make a pass or two .One the first pass after I left the line and noticed the tach was still set at 6000 .It ruffled me a bit and somehow short shifted first at 5000 and did shift into third at 6500 .Still ran a 12.15 at 113.07 off the trailer and warmed up a bit .Next pass was a 10 minutes later or less had a 1.80 60 ft went 12.03 at 113.54 . Since it didn't seem to help it much thought to short shift at 5700 next couple of pass's both times it spun off the line and ran 12.25 at 113 with 2.07 60 ft times. I guess it will be spring before the 11's time slip happens . Time to do some tweaking and small changes at least there is a known baseline now.

Thinking of retarding the cam 2 degrees and trying that to kill a bit of bottom end power, had tried 4 degrees in the 69 car but that was to much .This car makes more power so 2 shouldn't kill it to much down low . Should I take it to a chassis dyno first or go ahead and set it now .

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

I'd do it now to get a baseline before any changes.

Did some messing around yesterday and if you push on my 69 CJ cars rad support it will bounce up and down a bit as it should. The 68 car doesn't move at all up or down. Steve Arp said the front end did very little movement on launch but yet it still 60 ft's well .Need to figure out what the issue is and get it moving for better weight transfer and better 60 ft's. .A bit better 60 ft with no other changes should get it in the 11's this spring.

Sure is quiet in here lately.Got new coil springs ordered and getting a light weight starter .Going to adjust the valves for the first time and make other tweaks.Cant wait to get back to the track in a couple months . Should be able to shave another 2-4 tenths off under the right conditions .
