Well today was to be the day then the rain and fog moved in. Set up crew beat feet so we wait another day. So now my garage is sitting on a trailer in the driveway instead of being at the end of the driveway with my trailer inside. g8.JPG

Who did you get the building through?

Long horn steel structures. I priced a pole building and about five different all steel buildings. Went to look at completed buildings they had put up and talked to owners before going this route. https://longhorn-steel-str.com/

Keep me in mind, once you get settled in. Maybe we could meet up in Wytheville and travel over to Elk Creek Dragway. It's been a while since I was there. Or some other car activity. Always something car related going on in the Fancy Gap area or nearby.

Well yesterday was interesting. one of those all day fog outs when you can't see 50' away all day long. Got the lift stuck and one of the guys on the crew wound up with a nasty cut. The injured worker is stitched up today and the sun came out. My trusty 434IH pulled the lull out. Sure am glad I hauled that thing down g9.JPG don't know how anyone gets buy without at least one tractor. These guys work like crazy showed up at 7:00 and went till dark one lunch break. Another day like that and the shell should be done.

Well it,s done and I'm broke but happy. Now to start hauling the rest of the stuff down from Ohio then sell that house. I raised three beautiful girls there and hate to see it go. As Bob Seeger so wisely said "Turn the page."
Looking forward to getting the wagon down here and finding local hangouts. Drive ins seem plentiful, there were lots of cruse ins last summer and there has to be a drag strip and a dirt oval around here.
Thanks to all who responded here with understanding g14.JPG g13 (2).JPG g13 (1).JPG of the need for a garage big enough to park you're house in.

So a few questions... What was the final $$$ minus the slab? Are you gonna spray on foam insulation? We are scouting country property and need a place that'll hold my boat; thats 40 X 13 x 18 tall (absolute minimum door height with the keel on the ground). Thinking of double sliding doors on tracks. Thoughts?? ws

How many $$$$.? That's the BIG question. Slab was $20'000 building was $30'000. The bubble insulation is like an r-5 just enough to keep it from sweating inside. I plan on building a 27' deep buy 30' wide shop with a doped ceiling and good insulation inside behind the 16x10 door on the left. The 12x12 door on the right is to park a camper and pickup in. Leaving 33x30 for storage behind the shop. Sliding doors are great for big openings but you need somewhere for them to slide to when open. I'm putting an 8x10 slider in the back shop wall.
