Wow, just 5 days ago I filled up with $1.65 Today gas is $1.99, the highest I have seen it. No real mention on the news why. Seams like no one noticed it spike yet.
Crude's back up again partially due to fears of a shortage due to storm damaged platforms down in the Gulf. Always something. I also just read that we should all prepare for record home heating prices this winter as propane, coal, natural gas and home heating oil are all at record highs. :af:
Shoot I wish I was paying $1.65 per gallon. Over here in Chicago we're paying between $2.00 to $2.45 per gallon, depending what area you buy from. That's only for regular unleaded. ou:
The oil connection. I just realized something when I saw Sunoco Vpower tankers fill up at the Marathon holding station. In Toledo we have two plants, A Sunoco oil plant and a BP oil plant. Both very very big. Marathon has a holding station where they fill up tankers. Marathon get it gas by pipe line from BP. Its like 2 country block away, connected by pipes. Marathon also does speedway and other gas. But some reason, the Sunoco plant doesn't make enough of the Vpower gas or might not even make it at all. So they fill up the V power tankers at the Marathon pumping station, which is really BP gas???????? [The Marathon station has only holding tanks n pumps for tankers. No refining stuff.]
Dang, that's higher than any of the places here east of Seattle (Bellevue, WA). We're in the 2.0's for regular unleaded... so far
Check this out. One of the most unrefined fuels out there, diesel, is now $2.24 per gallon by me in the NYC suburbs. It has jumped about $.20 a gallon in about a week. Thats ridiculous! Regular gas is $2.03 a gallon. How is diesel almost as much as high test? :af:
Here where the sun always shines, it's 2.19 for the best you can get. I've always wondered why the octane numbers are so different from here and in Sweden, where it's 95 96 98. What does the octane number really do?
$2.23 for Premium for the Impala SS with the 3800 Supercharged engine, glad being paid for by GM! Saw diesel fuel at the Citgo for $2.04 a gallon, $1.94 at Meijer down the street? What's up with that? Don't the truckers have a problem with the increase in Diesel fuel? Wondering folks want to know why they are not complaining furiously! It's got to cut in to their bottom line  Plus us recreational folks with the Diesels, want to know why diesel fuel has to cost as much as regular gasoline? What is going on? RV
I think the companies pay for the gas. All the truckers I've known have had a card that's for gas only and it's from whatever company they're hauling for atm.
WOW, just got some gas for $1.82.9 the cheapest I seen for a while 1.85. Same place Sterlings on Starr ave in Oregon. I say I live in Toledo as people know where that is. Oregon is a boarder city which route 2 run through. That is a cheap cheap price for a record breaking day. $50 a barrel
