As I said before-I am one of only a few Riviera drivers in complete Europe so there is no chance for me to get spare parts here. Can anyone pleeeeease help me find a replacement windshied-best would be a tinted one as I had before. ('66 ones should also work-right?) Absolutely no idea who it was ...otherwise I'd definitely have a date with him at this moment... ... got some letters on it a few months ago like: "Every ride with this car kills a tree..."and stuff. ...This is germany...the people here drive VW, and Toyota with 3 cylinders and 10 catalytic converters... ...When I drive around here they think that Batman is comin' 'round with a tank... ...but does a hippie guy really carry around gulli covers for 1/4 mile?
OMG - You have GOT to be kidding! Tree huggers, they're not just for America anymore.... Every revolution of a chainsaw also kills a tree. Does he also target loggers? Tell him to picket chain saw shops. Wait, don't give them any ideas. LOL What that fool doesn't realize, is that even if your car DID pollute, trees scrub the air anyway to a great extent. Back in the 60's and 70's when air quality was at it's worst in L.A. and NYC, I don't remember hearing about an epidemic of tree sickness.
Ouch...that had to hurt. It seems they are getting crazier over there in Germany too. If you ever catch the person responsible, I hope you return him to the environment! I'll look around here; - there used to be an old 66 Riviera in a local yard that was being slaughtered out for parts, I'll see if it's still around. If it is, I'll PM you.
J.J. i am so sorry for your loss,i cant even imagine how bad does it feels. I will be calling my friend tomorrow who has found a windshield for me(66 riv),tinted and new.If i get all the directions i'll give you a pm. Btw maybe there is some kind of street camera near your car?Go look for one and maybe you could find what a piece of s**** did this:af: P.S. i think 66,67,68,69 and 70 will work for you ,also check Toronado and Eldorado.
I don't think so. The 68/69/70 have hidden wipers. I could be wrong. I got a new windshield for my 69 from the auto glass shop. If one is available for you, how would we get it to you? And, what is a gully cover???????? And how do you "hit" one onto a car?
Dude- you need a garage with a lock and automatic lights, not to mention killer insurance. I hope whoever did that is soon composting his beloved trees Robert.

I looked it up in my parts book. The front glass is essentially the same from 66-70 although the 70 has a different part number because of the windshield antenna. Eldorados and Toronados share the same shield.

I would leave a note on my car suggesting how long his plastic car will sit in a landfill after he is finished using it (not to mention the batteries if it is a hybrid) to drive around smashing others' cars, then position a webcam hooked up to my laptop aimed at my car to see all those who read it, and hope one does something so I can catch them, have them arrested, then sue the crap out of them. I would then send them a letter letting them know how many trees were chopped down for the paperwork pertaining to the lawsuit and call him a hypocrite. :af: If that doesn't work, I would move on to mafia style tactics....:blast:

Yards, the 66' was the last year for exposed wipers. Don't think it would have anything to due w/ your replacement though. Rivs interchange from 66-70*i think *. Toronados also match. Either way, someone needs to be "accosted"
Unfortunately that 66 Riv for parts is gone; - they squashed it flat and sent it to the recycling plant a few months ago. Isn't there anyone in Germany who can make that glass up for you? Shipping costs are probably outrageous to ship a windshield there. Didn't Opel have a model or two in their Kapitaen or Admiral line that was similar? Hopefully you've filed the proper complaints with the police; - solche leute solten erschossen werden fuer sowas...(hope I got it right, my German is a bit rusty!) Viel glueck!

No-Up to now I do not have any clue who it was,but if I get him I promise to open an exclusive thread 'bout help on torture methods for him if I run out of own ones after a month or two...:spank: :blast:ray: Up to now I asked for a new windshield on several forums, on vintagecarglass, windshieldstogo,(thanks Kacper) autoglasscenter.com and the autoglassmasters,but didn't get any answer bout shipping costs from one of them yet... think I just gotto wait...
Sick Indeed. This sort of behavior is fostered by a worldview that holds "someone else's property" in contempt because (add social-fascist cause here) is more important than protection of individual rights regarding life, liberty, property. sadly, this view is quite prominent in much of western europe and also increasing in the USA. JJ- hopefully you will quickly find a low-cost recovery plan that will return your stunning 67 Riv to perfect condition, while the thugs reconsider their poor behavior and become less controlled by enviro-fascist propaganda. if you contacted the local media about the incident, perhaps you could get lucky and generate a wave of public discontent that would help you and locate the criminals.
