Anybody in Michigan that wants one, that I might see in the next couple of months, please let me know, as Frank and Bill Wills have discussed sending them with BW next weekend, 17th-18th when he comes up for the NAIAS. Save on shipping, may also have one this weekend at our little Michigan get-together at Dave Roland's in Macomb Twp, email me for directions, pizza party at 4PM or there abouts.

I've been asked if I would take personal checks. YES, but the order will not be sent until the check clears. That will be 7 working days Any bad checks, just add $20 to your next money order. No word on the clear ones yet. Anyone going to the NE Christmas party, John Schmidt will have some there. Thanks Frank

Just got my tank, installed it, very happy. It exceeded expectations. Thanks for the hard work. I hope you make more money on this than you ever hoped you would.

I'm definitely going to put coolant in it and use it like it was intended. And when the damn thing turns all kinds of yellow, I'm gonna buy another one. I hope everyone else out there that buys one does the same thing.

hi Frank, thanks for a superb job. I received the tanks on Wednesday last week and I've been out of town since, can't wait to install them on the cars this wwekend. Hope you do well selling them so that we can all have future repo parts available like these.

    Coolant Tank

    Frank,
Received my tanks last week. Just wanted to let you know that they look great. I installed one on my GSX and it fit perfect, both mounting and hose connections. Great Job !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone once mentioned shooting a clear-coat on the inside of the bottle as a way to prevent the coolant from discoloring the plastic. Does anyone "in-the-know" have some thoughts regarding the effectiveness of this approach?

  11. Hmm, I thought the typical yellowing was due to degradation of the plastic itself, from exposure to light? Is it actually an effect of the coolant?

I'd say the under hood temps play a part in that as well.

I think you guys are probably correct. Petroleum fumes, heat, and light probably have more effect than coolant ever would. Consider that the entire bottle becomes discolored, not just the part exposed to coolant. I'm going to install mine and not worry about it especially since I only drive about a 1000 miles a year.

Old Age causes everything to go downhill, even plastics! fumes, heat, coolant,etc..
Kinda like the human body, to much sun, smoking, drinking, playing hard and time, will eventually catch up to us all.

However I did just return from the Cleveland Auto-Rama, and spoke with John Schmidt, and he had one of these new tanks in the trunk of his Beautiful 71' GS stage 1 Conv.
Have to say, they look very, very nice. Congrats on making a great repro Frank M. I think all would be happy to have one on their car!

Don't wait to get one, as I hear CARS, Inc has already sold out what they got from Frank, and this was a limited production. I have 3 here in Michigan, that Bill Wills brought out last weekend for the Michigan folks, to save some $ on shipping, so if any Michigan folks want one, let me know, will bring to the February 28th meeting at Craig Cruisers in Grand Rapids, or yell at me in between, I think Frank is going to be joining us at the Southeast Michigan BCA swap meet in Troy, MI to sell some there too! Whats the story on the clear tops? Are they going to be repo'd too....Or do I need to buy one of these and try to put my NOS clear top on it?

Thanks for any update you guys can offer.
