First off, if you don't like heads up, street type drag racing, all you can eat BBQ, and a beer or 10(if you choose) this isn't the event for ya. For anyone else, or yall that were here last year this is a blast and cheap fun. $25(I think it is) for an afternoon of 1/8th mile racing with a BBQ to follow. Heads up, pick your opponant, no timeslips, etc., Like racing on the street, lol. A fun Saturday to say the least. But on the point of this post................ I know I talked to a bunch of yall this last weekend about this and I wanna get a approx. count of attendees so I can make a deal on a motel for us. What I need is just the basics.....A name, and a number of rooms needed. I.E. - Jim Gibson(and Mishi) - 1 room. Lets try not to get families and friends crossed up and I will try and get us a deal once I have an idea on the number. I am gonna start the process right now with a call to my buddy that owns the place. Let me know......................

OK OK...........I just posted this and since have gotten 3 phone calls and an email about it. PARDON me for leaving out the date and the other such info. I was just trying to get some feelers out there. ANYWAYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS here. October 9th, Atwood Kansas 67730, 1/8th mile racing on the airstrip. Gates open at 1 PM(I will get us in before that with a tug on a couple strings ). Cost $25 and includes a private BBQ and dance that evening after the races. For anyone that is considering this and have questions just ask. There were a few of us there last year and this is just a blast. NO pressure, run when you want, no brackets, qualifying. If you get a answering machine leave a name and number and they will contact you(she promised she would,lol). Get your calls in, this a 15 room motel that a buddy owns. I am thinking it's gonna be REALLY easy for us to fill the joint. NOTHING but Buicks in the place. I ain't gone no where!! Well, Jim, I am still stuck here. Still haven't found a job. Don't know if we will make it or not. What with no job, Eric's truck stolen, insurance co BS, trying to squeeze in house payment, property taxes due on the house this month, license plates on the truck this month, too, etc, etc, etc... Dave - okay, we know place, date, time, hotel, cost, what ya get for your $25 but what the hell time zone is that? Think I'll make a reserve for that hotel too. Sounds like they're going to be gone soon. We can always cancel Atwood or Vegas.
Make sure and ask if they provide corprate rates. All you gotta do is ask that, then if they say yes. Then write down your "business" name. The give people traveling on business up to 50% off room prices. I use to use that trick to rent rooms for parties. Learned it when I use to work for a sign company and I traveled all over ohio washing signs down with a wet rag. boaring but good money.

Sue, Time zone will cost ya an hour there girl. Don't worry you'll be fine. You already saw the routine at this deal last year so you know what to expect there. Only thing that is an ''issue'' would be the motel. :eek2: I haven't ever been there and have no idea what the rooms are like.
