Well here it is in a nut shell................. :3gears: I made the trip in to show up and surprize all who had no idea I would be there!!! So to those who didnt show up you guys missed an AWESOME BBQ and alot of fun burning rubber and beating up the local hotrod guys and girls. I went and showed up to help terrorize the locals and spun my way down the course to beat everyone on the parking lot that looked fast!!! Even Gibson took his shot at the title!!! :TU: I think I have it on tape if Conilog wasnt filming the ceiling and all around.... o No: I left Atwood now 2-2 with the Gibson "Freightliner" :Brow: I know he will show me the mercy I showed him off the starting line!!!!! :spank: :spank: :spank: NONE!!! :laugh: I hear someones son's car is faster than Dad's too!!!! :beer That wont last long!!!! :Brow: I was on the way home and someone had a bad wreck on I70 today too lines of cars for 2-3 miles It looks like someone died the car was HAMMERED!!! The truckers on the CB were saying that lifestar was flown in for someone.. ouch !! Well its finally over.......... What a long weekend but fun none the less. I think there were about 20 in our group and thats just a guess. When I finally ''came too'' this morning some had left already so I didnt get to toss out the ''Thanks'' that some many deserved. SO Thanks, to everyone that came and raced. I hope yall had fun. I know the guys that put this on appreciate us all showing up. I would like to give out a couple personal Thank Yous to John C., Jim G., Paul M., and Steve W. Between the 5 of us on Sat. morning, in 45 minutes actually, we installed my nitrous kit so I could try and keep up with the boys. A stock low comp. 455'' with a unknown shot on it. I say unknown because Jim and John were talking and all I remember is Conilogue saying ''no really, its ok, it'll swallow it'', and Jim got ''that'' look on his face. Anyways........thanks to all you guys for helping me out. I got 1 hardcore good run in with the button pushed, and it was awesome. I had decided to make the switch before using this stuff, now I KNOW I am gonna continue to use it. I know some of yall took some pix so post away. I never got the camera out this time. Really looking forward to seeing what some others saw in regards to the day at the strip, air strip that is..................
All in all it was fun, but I was really bummed that I only got to race twice. I put all that work into fixing that oil leak, and drove all the way out there for only two races. Any pics of me? Wow! I didn't realize that there were that many people at the atwood drags from this message board. I brought my buick-powered pickup up there on saturday, and had a BLAST! I had the plain blue shortbed with the Hoosier slicks and ghetto mag rear wheels..haha. I won all the races I ran except for one (that black grand national got me.) The dude with the radar gun said I ran 66 mph..not bad I guess. I didnt get a chance to race any more of you buick guys..I was too busy grudge racing with my local friends. You got any pics of my ugly ol' blue beast?

Yes, I am definetly kicking myself for not coming over and being sociable. It did cross my mind however when I saw the buick flag flying over there on the east side of the strip. I guess I was pretty wrapped up in all the bench racing that was going on over in my crowd after the deal was over with. It would have been cool to have a couple beers with y'all, but for one I'm not old enough (only 19), and also at this years rod run I got an MIP (Minor in possession of alcohol..yes..very bad.) The drags at the rod run this year got rained out..it was a bad weekend for me :af: . Anyways, Ill be at this coming rod run hopefully with a real cam, a set of headers, and SP1 intake. That ought to make it run just a lil better. :3gears:
Don't feel bad Adam, that GN got the best of a few other cars also. John, are you listening, John, are you out there? After a certain race I heard some whining about traction but Kevin's picture of that '72 against the GN shows no signs of traction problems at the line. It must have spun at mid track when the GN blew past it! Right John? :3gears:
