Ok this is the problem,my set up is this currently,i have an electric fuel pump at the rear and i have a steel braided line on the pass. side running all the way up to the regulator which is mounted on my pass. side fender well with 2 steel braided hoses going across straight to the Holley Double pumper, now this is my problem,i currently purchased a billet fuel pump from Jim@ trishield so i`m gonna have to relocate the steel braided line from the pass. side to the drivers side cause thats where the fuel pump is,the connections up to the fuel pump are no problem for me,i`m trying to figure out what to use or how to do my connections from the pump to the Carburetor in which the fuel inlets as everyone knows are on the pass. side?if anyone could shed some light i would appreciate this very much.

    Thanks

whatever you do dont go with flexible line from the pump up. bend a hard line to a tee then go to the carb inlets from there if using a regulator still got there and use the reg as your tee

There's nothing wrong with using steel braided line. In fact it will work better. Hard line is subject to vibration fatigue and crushing if it gets hit. Stay away from rubber line though.

The fuel pump location does make it tough to run a Holley. You would abviously move the main line from the pass side frame rail to the driver's side rail. Then from the pump, I would run braided line up to a tee at the intake manifold and then run a separate line to each bowl. Look at the fittings catalog and see what combination you can come up with.

Another possibility ... You can get a set of "Dominator" float bowls from Holley that have inlet provisions on both sides. Just move the plugs to the passenger side and put your inlet fittings in the driver's side.

    Hope this helps. Have fun.

    fuel lines

the dominator bowls are probably the easiest way to go, but becareful you do not get the lines too close to the throttle linkage, it could rub or get hung. general rule is run the fuel lines on the opposite side of the linkage. any questions let me know. good luck. jerry :TU:

    Hi George,

I also agree that changing the float bowls over to "Dominator-style" is the BEST way, when using Holley dual-inlet/mechanical fuel pump. Using the drivers-side inlets, you'll avoid having to wrap the inlet around the distributor, also avoiding the alternator! (I've had problems with some dual-feed kits TOUCHING the intake, and coming VERY CLOSE to Alt./Coil! :error: ) Shortest possible runs with the least amount of bends , is ALWAYS advisable when designing fuel lines! :Smarty:

Hard line vs braided steel, IMO, really boils down to personal choice & the depth of your wallet!

WHICHEVER type of line you choose (custom-bent steel hard line or braided steel ONLY! DON'T use rubber, and aluminum SUCKS!),

MAKE SURE THAT YOU SECURELY MOUNT THIS FUEL LINE

(from the pump to carb) anywhere you can, using RUBBER-LINED CLAMPS!

If you do decide to change bowls, these are NICE! :TU: http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=741&prmenbr=361

Thank you very much Jeff, that aluminum plate with the regulator was exactly what i had in mind for the feed to the carb, thank you. :TU:

    bowls

we also have a nice set of aluminum double fitting bowls that have the glass sites on each side of the bowl. the sites are actually glass not the plastic screw in type, which turn brittle and fog over after awhile. it has a bigger capacity and uses the fuel chute technology for better fuel flow into the bowl, less float movement. :Smarty: any questions call us at 270-793-0900. thanks jerry

go to our web site at quickfueltechnology.com and then go to carb parts and then select fuel bowl. then scroll down about half way to fuel bowl conversion kit 4brl. those are the bowls, but the difference is the dual inlet, dual glass site, are more expensive, you can also get them with just a single inlet single glass site. take a look and let me know what you think. our web site has not been updated in awhile. also take a look at the carbs we build and you will see what i am in charge of. thanks :TU: jerry

    George,

This is how we plumb a 455/billet pump/Holley combo.

Note this is an HP carb, so it has the dommie float bowls, but I don't use the driver side for the inlet, due to the throttle cable/linkage being on that side.
