Basically, it's a device that is connected to your foot shift lever and when you push your horn button, the motorcycle shifts in to the next gear. You don't have to let off the gas, you don't have to hurry and get your foot up, and you don't have to do anything except push the horn button.
Do two Brit bikes and a Honda XR80 equal one Hogley? Have a 2003 Triumph Thunderbird Sport, a '68 BSA FireBird,and the daughter has a 2004 Honda XR. Sold a Yamaha Venture last Fall, never rode it. Last Henley Dobbleson was an '86 FXRT, also had as a first bike a '65 XLCH. Kick start, magneto. :TU:
97 Sportster Hugger. My buddy and I live a couple of hours apart, and like to meet and enter the local HD dyno shoot outs with our bikes (a good excuse to go for a ride, right?). Usually between the two of us we clean up our class. Best run to date on mine registered 95RWHP. :bglasses: My buddy was doing some dyno tuning on his a couple of months ago, and registered 105RWHP. :eek2: Not too bad for 74CI!
I still have my '73 Monark of Sweden MX dirt bike that I bought in '75. I have rode a Harly sporster some, but never owned one. If I was going to ride a bike on the street, it would be an old full dress Harly or Indian. But I feel alot safer getting my thrills with 2 tons of steel surrounding me, so I will stick to cars.o No:
First I'll say that I love all motorcycles. Next, I'll tell you I'll never own a Harley. My first choice would be a Ducati Monster 1000. Currently I have a pair of Jap bikes to play around with: a '80 Kaw 440 ltd, and a '78 Honda cb550 four. Both are just an outright blast to ride, each for different reasons. Ultimately, I couldn't see getting too far into motorcycles because I really can only use them for pleasure cruising. At least my Lesabre can haul around goods, or friends, and has A/C. When it's hot in summer it just ain't any cooler on a bike, not even next to Lake Michigan:TU: Hence, I can put more miles on the car. Besides who likes riding two upo No: what a pain.
I bought a '07 Heritage Softail Classic in September. I can't wait to get home to pick it up from the dealer.
Whatever you do, DO NOT have the dealer do the 903 bulletin donwload on that bike, mine and hundreds of others have been in tuning hell since this download was done, it's a HUGE F*** up on the MoCo's part. DO NOT DO IT !! mine has had over 70 miles put on it on the dyno yesterday, that's 70 dyno miles just to get it rideable... it only has 395 miles on it now..
Hopefully I won't have to deal with that. It hasn't been built yet. It has a factory scheduled production week of 24 April.
It was good, as I remember, I did ride it a number of 700 mile days. But I've had A Ducati 900se (El Mostro) and the Triumph Triple since then. They're both lighter and faster than the Harley was. The Venture was very comfortable, but certainly not a backroad machine at 900 lbs, or whatever.
started off and still have 2001 Kawasaki KLR 250 (street legal enduro) awsome bike to have fun on! its only 237pounds so handling turns etc are great, it can take a beating without skipping a beat (ive dumped it plenty of times in the trails). It tops out about 85-90mph and is an awsome trail bike., go pretty much anywhere with it. Along with the klr250 I got a 2004 FXST softail standard, real nice bike to ride
