What kind of whacky cars would you build? My top three choices: A Military Hummer with camroflauge paint and 20 inch chrome wheels with spinners. (it distracts the enemy) An International Scout II with a 549 International dump truck motor. A brand new Mustang with a flathead in it.
Build a car for shock value huh? Any new GM truck that wasn't so ugly it made your eyes burn. ou:
one word...Matador I picture a mid 70s AMC Matador on a Suburban frame with twin outboard mercs and an inline six up front.:jd:
I agree with you tim the GMC is not a bad looking truck, it is the shivvy, with the avalanche front end that I do not like.
How bout a 1960/61 Buick Cop car with the word sucker painted across the rear bumper in big letters. You could turn the lights and siren on, pull people over, then as they are sweating it to the side of the road, you could blast on by laughing...heehee:Brow:
65 Wildcat Nomad 2 door wagon dual quad 4-speed A Nailhead powered 32 coupe. A Buick powered inboard speedboat
An early '60s Cadilac hearse powered by 2 inline sixes, side by side (one facing forwards, one rearward) in the back attached to a Toronado transaxle. :TU:
lets see a 70 GS with an 800 plus horsepower engine under the hood on 10.5 inches of street tires thru the muffs ....has to run low 10s about 133 mph.......oh heck I have that already!!!:beer ou:
Fiberglass bodied, tube chassised 69 Wildcat four door sedan. Stock appearing with a small "trolling" motor powering the front wheels for cruising the drive-in, and a 600 CI Twin turbo aluminum BBB sitting in the backseat area. I can see it now. "Look at that old four door piece of crap with the tinted rear windows and the quiet stock engine, bet it runs 20s" as I lay down a 7 flat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS. Mike you big show off! If I hit the lotto you'd best look out for the aforementioned car:beer
how about any late model riceburner with all the spoiler/sticker/stupid paint job crap on it except it would have a toronado transaxle and a BBB under the hood?
Many years ago a guy put a 327 chevy in the back seat of a Corvair coupe. He somehow hooked it up to the Corvair transaxle. The engine was sitting in the back seat area plain as day and boy was it hot inside that car! The shock value was diminished substantially by the fact the owner was a bit of a wing nut before he started the project and even more so after. Harvey
I'm thinking an old Buick Hearse sporting a Stage 2 hood scoop - because it needs it! Everything else, sans coffin, would be original.
