God Bless you Scott! Thanks in advance! Are you getting some technical training or are you a combat guy?
Congrats! I did the same thing about 10 years ago. I have loved being a Marine, so I am still in. Where will you be going for boot camp? San Diego or Parris Island? If you have questions about what boot camp will be like feel free to PM me. :TU: Brian
Scott, you're doing a great thing:beer Good luck in the Marines. Once a Marine, always a Marine:bglasses:

Thank you for the kind words everyone. I appreciate it greatly. As for whether or not Im going to I raq we have yet to determine that. I just went to MEPS today so I didnt get to choose my job yet. But based on my ASVAB line scores and my physical I qualify for everything. Im probably gonna take a support role probably mechanical in some way. Either a crew cheif on a bird or a transport mechanic. I wanna do something that I can use my technical skills with. And Brian Ill be going to Parris Island. And with the college credits I have already I get promoted to private first class (E-2).
Better hurry up and choose, hate for you to get stuck as a cook or a grunt. But, nothing wrong with grunts, with out us there would be noone for the wing nutters to support  :bglasses: ... Michael
Michael, I go for my first Poolee meeting tomorrow and the boss and I are gonna go over my job options.
Choose wisely my young padawan... Cause if you hate it your stuck for a while and a bad choice can change your whole outlook... Keep us posted... HEHEHEHEHE... THE PI... HEHEHEHEHE... Hope you like sand flees and crabs (not the eat'n kind)... HEHEHEHEHEHEHE Michael
Thanks man... yer doin the right thing,i was rebellious as a kid and now im the black sheep of the family (granddad army air corps pilot, dad loadmaster c 141,uncle c17 FE,other uncle navy sub) im still barley young enuf for air gaurd and still may do it...but anyway THANKS for defending our freedom bro..and welcome to South Carolina, seriously, its cool here :beer fish PS and always :blast: them before they :blast: you Oorahh :TU:
Good luck if you do go to iraq and think positive thoughts. Also over there beware of Taxi cabs, I heard they call over people to "help fix them" then they explode the car.
Good luck to you! Best move I ever made in my life. Served in the Marines 1882-1985. I should have never got out. It is a good idea to choose a MOS that is best for you. The Air Wing is a good choice, lots of tech stuff to learn. If you become a 0311, grunt, basic ground-pounder, the heart of the Marine Corp you will be one of the wold's finest! USMC (Uncle Sams Mis-guided Children) is the way to go. Start running now so it won't be so bad in basic! If you are a gear head, many of the bases have a free garage and all kinds of tools to work on your ride. Semper Fi. Mark
