It has been a good amount of work, it is much closer now, those pictures are old. I will try to get some more up kind of soon. I hope to put it all back together soon.
I got a few quick pictures of the flanges, I have done lots of cutting on them. The first pictures are sort a before and after thing. Let me know what you think.
Work of art from my point of view:kodak: I want to know how your wife lets you get away with doing the machining in the kitchenuzzled:
LOL, I know!!! He has no wife!!!!!!!!!!! But his girl friend is not happy when he talks to me too long on the phone:beer
No wife, I am only 18. Not ready for all of that. My girl is pretty understanding about the whole car thing, she even helps me work on them. But she gets bent if we are hanging out and I am on the phone the whole time. LOL. Thanks for all the kind words. I will try to get some more picturs up in the next few days.
Yeah, most ladies get bent out of shape when we spend too much time with the cars LOL:3gears: Keep up the great work on that little 350!:beers2:
Your only 18? Wow, you have quite a bit of talent and looks like a good future for yourself! Good for you
Thanks! I do not plan on doing anything automotive as a job in the future though. Get a good job so I can pay for it all. For now I just want to finish the car and motor and try to make some nitrous passes this year. Luckly I have been working some over time when I am not in school.
I like all this intake modifing stuff. Keep giving updates. Can I ask what the reasoning is for splitting up the plenum like that? The 340 ports line up with the Buick 350 ports pretty well and now you have to do some nice alignment and fill welding to make the plenum bolt up to a Holley correctly. Just wondering. In case you missed it here's one where Hector modified a 340 dual plane to fit the 350: http://www.buickperformancegroup.com/forums/showthread.php?6012-Intake Mark also did some good stuff with a Poston making it a quasi single plane: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=172629 I'm wondering how they ever worked out.
I was thinking the same thingo No: It looks cool and you look to be doing a good job of it, I just dont get the cross-split plenum. Kinda looks like it would make alignment harder.
Johnny did the same thing, otherwise the ports do not line up very well at all. http://www.buickperformancegroup.com/forums/showthread.php?3631-OUR-LITTLE-350/page2
