I STILL like that car. Your blue one is cool, and crazy fast(9.60's at Denver is awesome), but "Swampthing" is the "The" ride man. :3gears: :3gears:
Got the hotel room reserved. Serviced the blower on the truck and put the towing pulley on. Started pre race maintenance on the No'pollo(my new name for my crossbreed hehe) and even filled my N20 bottle(hey, it's a bracket race but you never know..... :grin so I suppose you could say I'm coming. BTW. Frtlnr my man. I was worried about that pic of your ride. But upon closer inspection all is well in my world. I'm STILL gonna have the "beaterest" looking car out there. Mine has BIG rust holes. nanner nanner boo boo. :moonu:
It looks SOOOOOOOOOO much better in the photos! :Brow: I'm just hoping it goes like stink! :bglasses: And not: Stinks as it goes!?!?!? Jim
Hey Dave, Wayne from Buickland here..... Just wanted to give ya :TU: :TU: (2 BIG thumbs up) for putting this together. I really wasnt aware of the event until this year, and not having anything that I want to "compete" with, must forgo this year and let you know I am ALREADY looking forward to attending next year. Between me and a friend, we should have 2 cars to attend, if not 3. When searching out our events for next year, this one is quite further than we discussed we want to tow. However, it WILL be on our calendar as a MUST ATTEND event god willing things go as planned. So next year, hopefully you will have a 10'ish second 70 GSX Clone there (his) and an easy low 11 car in mine(70 GS). Just letting you know, your attempts to expand the event are successful. And we look forward to catching up with you guys next year!
Wayne, No need to bring a fast car to this, its braket racing. I'll be taking my 73 Century, with a bone stock 180k 350 4bbl in it. Just going to bolt on a set of slicks and have some fun. :3gears: :3gears: :3gears: :beer :beer :beer
Wayne, GLAD to hear we're spreading out some. And REALLY glad yall are gonna try and make it up next year. "Rumor" has it.................there will be some other Buickland "cronies" or better yet, "Cronettes" making the trip too HAHA. And it is marked for them too. As always, I will be looking at ideas to improve what we have. And depending on the experiment this weekend, I may have an announcement for next year that will make a few more happy. Time will tell of course, but there is a "sit down" scheduled with myself and the track team. I will let yall know what happens after this is all said and done. Also, I am trying like hell to get Kris convinced I just NEED to be in Temple this December for Phils 2nd run. I keep throwing the "it's close to your moms placeeeeee" at her. Seems to be working thus far. You gonna make it there ? I think its like the 1rst weekend. Anyways.......I don't see no reason to just have to park the car over the winter when I could be racing down south. We'll see............ Thanks again.............talk to ya soon..........
Eric, I know what ya mean! Run what ya brung right? In my case, it isnt the speed that worries me...... Unfortunately all I have is the GN and a 4 wheel drive Chevrolet, and theres a better chance of the truck being on that 1/4 mile strip than the GN. I just wont do it on this particular car. If it was a 118,000 car that already had everything replaced/modified/changed, it would be on like Donkey Kong! I paid alot for it, and gotta preserve it as is. I guess it fits into the "Trailer Queen" catagory, which is something I thought I would NEVER own, but I do, and live with what I have. In any case, this gives me a year to get serious with the GS...... Will update as I progress....... PS, Eric, Im not positive, but when you put on the slicks, alot of places require a driveshaft safety loop and a helment. Just making sure you are not surprised with anything at tech. uzzled: Im not positive, but maybe someone can tell me if Im wrong. Heck, you might already be prepared or already know. Im just spitballing what I "think" I know...... :beer
Waiting for a call back from Burek,.... I might just be able to play :Brow: If no car, Im going just because its a good event to shoot the you-know-what. Heck, if you go, I GOTTA go. :beer
Hood Hey Gibson, Are you and/or your nephew still haulin' that 68 GS hood to Kearney? I had forgot about it until a few days ago. The way things are going that may be the only thing Buick related that I'll be haulin back from Kearney. Thanks, P.D.
hood P.D.: I think we got ya covered, I called Kevin the other day and he should be bringing it up Thursday night for our GS club meeting. :TU: Jim
Room Whats up roomie, you ready for the killer party in the room you rented..... Whats wrong with your car? PD get to work. Jim is kevin coming to the event? get ready Loosers The Beast is rockin.... John
It better not be buster. We WILL talk bad about you and point fingers in your face. And I will puplically announce your failure to show up whenever I can :Brow: . I have been known to grab up the mike at the track. You DON'T want me to go there, now do ya ??????? Now put down that "goat slop champagne" you call beer, get to work, and get off the damn computer. :beer I'll see you AND Nemo in Kearney in a couple days............................ No pressure though............ p

hey jeff, I'm gonna try to get my wife to video tape as much as she can. Just VHS though. And of course shes not into cars as are we, so the attention to details may be lacking.
