How the heck is Letterman "establishment"? And what does that mean?

Gran Sport Devil (666). Thanks for the question. Inquiring minds are a good thing, but sometimes the questions never get answered. This is one of those times. Isn't America great? :TU:

cray1801 Too much is just right.

I'd probably give the nod to Letterman, but that Paul Shaffer guy has to go...

I generally like Letterman better. I have been to the taping 3 times. They tape the show everyday at about 4:30PM. You have to mail in advance for tickets, but it's worth the wait.

THE DAILY SHOW ROCKS :TU: unless you happen to be a fan of GWB.

I like them both, but the man that really started the "late night show" was Steve Allen! Many of the people he had on with him were GREAT. Don Knotts and Louie Nye come to mind immediately. I guess this really shows my age, but I remember all the way back to when Broadway Open house was the thing. Jerry Lester was the host, and a lady named "Dagmar" sat behind him on a stool and appeared like she was falling out of her dress at all times. Just a little history here as this is where the term came from for the bumper extensions on the Buicks. :Brow: :Brow: :Brow:

That was way before my time but I can definitely appreciate nice lines. I hate the current trend for implants.

Definately Conan beats them all ... but I rearely watch late night TV anymore. If I'm up that late, I'm either at work, out with friends, out in my shop, or watching a movie.

Thats before my time, but my dad has told me about it. I've even seen some old clips - great stuff. I'm not putting down Carson, but Allen really innovated, and seemed to be having far more fun doing it (and Carson sure seemed to enjoy himself). Wasn't Bob Newhart on Allen's show?

That's taking the easy way out. Shame. :eek2:

    I only used "666" cuz I knew it wouldn't be taken and I own a '66.
    I will come clean. Unlike...
