Ok, so I know that the Tri Shield emblem I speak of is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack; to find Waldo; to find your contact lens; to find a 1 inch nail in a box of 1-1/2 inch nails; enough analogies for ya?

But I need one and I have no idea where to search or who might have one or even who might make a reproduction. Hell, even an old faded one would be good; I'd get it restored.

So if ANYONE knows of ANY leads to finding this long lost treasure, PLEASE let me know!!

    Thanks,
    Charles

Unfortunately I don't have a picture. I can't even find one on google. About the best I can find is angle shots of other peoples restored Buicks and you can see the emblem, but not well enough to make it out if you didn't know what it looks like.

The emblem itself is vertically rectangular with the Tri Shield in the middle. There is a slight peak ^ running vertically down the middle. I have seen one with a silver (old chrome?) background around the Tri Shield and I've seen them with a black background. Which one is correct I do not know.

Hope this helps. Have any pictures of the ones you have?

Thanks Sarge, but those aren't quite what I'm after. Another club member helped me locate a picture.

This is the one that I'm looking for. From what I've learned and been told, it's extremely rare.

Rare? Crazy rare. There is a way to get a repro, though. It costs about 400- 500 $. Are you interested enough for me to look for it? It's not worth it to me.

I watch ebay all the time for buick emblems and i have never seen one like that. Good luck that is going to be a hard one.

I know of a $50 reproduction- not exact, but will fill the space. The tri-shield on this one (sorry no picture) is more contemporary than the correct style and the backing plate is black. I can get you the contact info if you want.

Jeezum Crow boys!! Y'all are on top of your game!! Thanks for all the input and helping me find a place that sold it. I knew it'd be expensive, but WOW! [IMG] Practically half a grand!?!? What in the world is going thru these peoples minds when they set these prices? Hmmm, maybe I'll think about buying one piece at a time or something. Until then, I think I'll just stick with the 2 holes in the center of my bumper!!

    Psh...half a freakin grand...for an emblem!!!

I've got a used one without the tri-shield lens I could let go for a reasonable offer. It's in pretty great shape...LMK

Here's what I did to mine 70 Wildcat, I used a 68 Electra emblem and bent up a piece of sheetmetal and epoxied some 5/16 bolts on the back of it, and then bolted the 68 emblem to that and then bolted it to the bumper. Oh yeah I used some door edge molding for the edges. It fills the blank spot anyway.
