    Mark,
I saw the LS6 article, I was very surprised by the '71 numbers. The guys from Chevy told us that the ports were better on the aluminum heads than the iron ones, but I never believed it, in fact I still think the main difference is the combustion chambers. But, whatever, awesome numbers for a basically stock engine. It's no wonder they killed the Hemis on the street.:TU:
Much as I love Fords, it's going to take of bodacious 429 to get close to those numbers. What issue of MCE was Stefina's 427 in? I'd really like to find a copy of the article.

I was told by 2 Mopar restorers that street Hemis built to stock specs by Ray Barton have consistantly dynoed between 495hp and 505hp at 6,000 rpms. Just passing on those two cents.

Brian I have reached the end of that rope. Dan and I need donations to keep these articles going. Fortunately several people such as yourself are stepping up to the plate and let us noodle around at the dyno with their motors. The good thing is we have enough motors/participants in the que to keep it going for another good year.

Thanks to all who help us out so often.

Somewhere I have a copy of a 1966 dyno test of the Hemi. It was done by Chrysler at their Highland Park facilities. I will have to dig it up if I can. But as I do not want to throw wrong numbers out there I will not. It did however easily surpass the 425 hp rating and upped the 480 lb-ft of torque rating also by a nice margin. The real gain was on the hp side. It is safe to say that they were stout. And I would hazard to guess that a well tuned PS one would go flying past the 500 hp level with ease.

I never thought I would have anything in common with the Stude's and AMC's but, I guess I can now attend the orphan car show in Yipsi every year!:Dou:

Just keep your trailer parked in Stanton so that your car could be pulled out. We may have to see who could cut the mustard as a pizza delivery dude!:moonu: :beers2:

    Brian,
I'll take a shot a MCE having a back issue, but please look anyhow. I'll be amazed if they have it.
