You should send Guiliani to Michigan so he can cleanse the state like he did Manhattan.

For what it's worth, I once read that Allegan county (Michigan) has the most meth labs per capita of any county in the US. For some reason that fact never makes it into the "Pure Michigan" TV ads.

I'm interesting in knowing this too. I plan on driving up thurs and if it's possible I'd love to drop off the trailer with the car in it and then not have to worry about it until the event concludes Sat.

comfort inn plainwell is sold out!!!!!!!! I need 4-5 rooms, I have 5 in gr and 5 at the holiday inn on cork street to trade!!! This is turning into a bull**** deal and there will be a lousy party because everybody is going to be split up. I am looking for another hotel near plainwell so that we can go back to the hotel and clean up and then probaly go back to the track or go on a road trip to find the best party. This means i will need to bring more booze, wine and cigars to cover 3 parties.

    To all,
Tami and I decided to switch hotels based on distance to the track, the fact that we are coming from the south, and the fact that we drive our car and therefore prefer the lower profile rural area for a hotel. I had also read that the main party was at the track last year and if that happens again this year it lessons the need to be at the host hotel just for the party. It also adds to the need for the hotel to be close to the track for a shorter drive if we do stick around the track Friday night.
We threw up the idea of an alternate hotel for those that had similar needs since a few others voiced concerns like ours. We were not trying to split the party for sure but needed to switch for our reasons. Hopefully there will be good partying everywhere! Stop and see us late night in Plainwell and we'll be serving some Liquor Jigglers your way :beer

Regarding the address for mapping the Plainwell Comfort Inn, as Munson pointed out, add the "West" to the street address for correct location. It is east of US131, adjacent to the on ramp so you cannot miss it.

Ok I will put in my 2 cents in, I also tried to get a room and they are sold out, actually they sold out in about 2 hours. I am sure there are many more in my situation. I could have got one early before they had the discounted rate. I decided to wait until it was definanate hotel change and by that time 2 hours later they sold out that's my fault. It's obvious that we will not all be grouped at the same hotel. So I think we should at least pick a destination were the after party will be. I am for the track except I dont know about you guys but after a day of racing traveling and the heat I think my car goes slower by the end of the day from the 10 pounds of dirt and grime Im carring on my body. A shower is priceless at that time, but if the party is at the track I wll deal with it. Plus I am defintely leaving my car at the track. But I think it is important to pick a final destination for the gathering and have a plan that works. Last year I was at the hotel and maybe 15 or 20 people were there, I was telling my buddy that had never been to the race about the great after party and it just never happened. I felt really bad for the guys that brought all types of food. So hopefully this year we will have a better plan. As far as getting a room I will look at other close hotels or crash with somebody that allready has one.:TU:

OK, here is the next option for hotels near the track and near the plainwell comfort inn
    SUPER 8 in kalamazoo
    269 345 0146.
The super 8 is south of the track by 19 miles and south of the plainwell comfort inn by 11 miles,

Our thoughts are that we will leave the track, go to the hotel and clean up then head back to the track for that party, then head back to the plainwell comfort inn for the parking lot party, then back to the super 8, no other option as i see it, as this is the next closest option.
The rate is $69.95 for 2 queen beds with breakfast, the hotel pictures look like it has been remodeled, good enough for us. The hotel is right at the exit with all kinds of resturants and gas

So now i have a total of 15 rooms in 3 different cities!!

I've stayed at the Comfort Inn in Plainwell a couple of times, nice place, but not much room for trailer parking. You will be better off leaving your car/trailer at the track.

That's great Dave, thanks! How late can we arrive and still drop off the trailer Thursday night?
