Got some updates for everyone. I've Gotten pretty much all of the top end together. MSD is mounted and wiring placed where it needs to be. Electric fan is mounted and controller is mounted. Wiring has been ran for those as well. I've spent a bit of time looming up the wiring under the hood because I would like it to look nicer. Ive installed my MSD wires , just need to finish cutting to length and install the boots at the cap. I ran the HEI through a relay instead of straight wiring it and used an old wiring harness bracket from a Honda and trimmed it to work. I got my new TA OEM rocker shafts and rockers in and got those on too. The PCV valve and grommet was a PIA to install with the intake on. Note for future reference. Went ahead and bolted up the silver powdercoated inner fenders as well. I think that's about all for now. Enjoy.

It's been a bit since I've updated everyone on the Skylark. I haven't really done much though. I finished up the plug wires, installed the Trans dipstick, drilled the breather hole in the passenger side valve cover, and filled it with fluids. I used rubber transmission cooler hose with heat shield over it instead of the steel lines because I didn't have the originals. I hope this doesn't bite me in the rear later! I just got my accelerator cable, console shifter cable, trunion, brackets, shifter chrome, and pull springs. Ill get more pics of that stuff on as soon as I get a chance.

I really stuck on a color though. I really love black. I've also seen silver and Stratomist blue as options. Any opinions or feedback is always appreciated!

I'm partial to black, but if you plan on driving it a lot, it will be hard to maintain. I think silver is probably one of the prettiest colors on our cars. Really shows the lines and curves well. I'm glad you changed the color of the motor back to red. Looks much better. :TU:

Keep up the good work. Great job!!!

What did you coat the underside of the roof panel with?

I need to clean mine up and do something since the sound/backer board (whatever the crap was glued up there) fell apart. Looks like you are making some decent progress.

I used a 3M paint/rust remover wheel on the entire roof. Then I applied etching primer, paintable soundproof undercoating, and satin black enamel. I figured it needed the extra protection. I plan on dynamatting the entire interior everywhere. My plans for this car isn't to build a drag monster or anything like that. I mainly want a nice modernized resto mod style car that my sons and I can take out and enjoy together. I plan on putting the A/C back in along with power windows, ONSTAR, LED interior and exterior LED and HID lighting, F.A.S.T. Fuel injection system, 4 wheel disc brakes all while looking original as possible.

I think silver would look good on your car.........Did you say you have a Honda part on your Buick? :spank:

Great work ,your gonna find out its easier to bolt the inner fenders on the fenders then bolt them on as an assembly ,unless your just mocking thing up now ,if so then carry on and keep up the good work!!!! :)

I agree with Silver. White makes the body lines exagerated too much. Black hides tones down the body lines, silver is a real nice color to show the profile of the body lines, and looks excellent againt a black vinyl roof and black interior. I will be painting my restomod silver, it has a black vinyl roof and will have a black interior. Your car is coming along great, most of us know how much work it takes to get just one detail taken care of.

I do have a Honda relay bracket holding my ignition relay... Lol. It fit with little modification. I love the silver on these cars but I see it so much on other cars around here. I'm liking the Stratomist blue because its different and is a color that stands out in a crowd.

Ill keep that in mind about the inner fenders. I've never reassembled one of these before so I definitely appreciate the advice.

    Thanks everyone!
