My 72 Gsx

    Only in '70 were they limited to 455 engines. '71-'72 were "ala carte". You could turn a bench seat, column shift, GS350 into a GSX with the addition of the ornamentation package code (stripes, rear wing, decals, dash emblem). You could do this without a front spoiler and without a hood tach too!

    Reading thru your description of the car I noticed the above. OMG, I would LOVE to see some pictures of that spoiler in the original bag. :eek2:

    No love lost if you don't put the top back on...I too loathe vinyl tops!
    Good find though...looks far better than one that's on ebay right now! Keep us posted on the resto!

    Very cool car, good to see another one getting restored...good luck with the project!

    And no, I'm not getting involved in the vinyl roof thingie...:beers2:
