Could you send me some close up engine compartment pics so I can try to rebuild mine? ( looks like someone took it all out and the forgot how it went back in)

  2. Thanks Chris, it's all original paint except for a small area on the drivers quarter. the car was hit many years ago and repaired

Like the joint and rolling papers I found in a 66 Special heater diffuser, they had fallen down the defroster duct from the dash.:eek2:

Thats half the fun when you clean out a car. I found uncooked rice under the backseat of my green Riv. I found about 40 women's telephone numbers written on cocktail napkins in the white Riv!

The last car I bought to repair and sell , we found scales and herbs in the front carpet and under front seat . I took all the seats and carpet out to very thoroughly clean after that .

    Nice find!:TU:
hmmmmm.....a Procharger with an EFI system from a 302 Ford would work nicely on that 300!:Brow:

  10. Thanks for the compliments on the car. I rebuilt the carb and replaced the plugs. today was the maiden voyage. it was quiet and felt like i was driving a marshmellow. the 50-1 ratio steering takes some getting used to. I noticed today that it still has all four T3 headlights. I'll be able to enjoy it this way for a while but the handling and lack of performance are going to have to be dealt with. I'm thinking of a 350 with some sort of forced induction and a suspension rebuild and upgrade. only time will tell. I did get a ton of looks and thumbs up when driving through town.

Dude close ratio box from NPD. 2.6 turns lock to lock. 220 I think. I have them in 2 cars now.

Clearly the best couple hundred I spent in the last 30 years!!!

Great to know, Bob digs up some neat stuff, I'm sure you will post some photos of it as it comes along!

I'll be interested to see what Bob decides on this project. Hey Bob, what about going with the stock rods and seeing how much it will take? I haven't heard of 340's dumping rods, and there are certainly plenty of replacements out there if you want to preserve the original engine. How about a 150 hp nitrous plate?

  19. I'm going to do something unique with this car. not sure yet but i do know it wont be a big block. I like the 300-340 engines and a healthy 340 would make a fun driver. I don't care to much about dragstrip stuff anymore. I'll wait till i'm back in Montana in a month or so before i dive in. for some reason I keep dreaming of a procharged smallblock

Adam, I'll try and get some pics posted soon. Bob really did a nice job on the restoration. I am making a few changes but nothing to major.
