I'm sorry that your havin such trouble, I'm lucky that I live were I do and never hear anything like this BUT...if my neighbor's were having a problem with each other and one of them DRUG ME IN IT...I'd be mad as hell, someone in sight of your dads back yard complained NOT everyone on the block, your no better then the person that fussed if you take it out on everybody else, not to mention doing that to your dad, he has to live there, I would fight this at the court house, if the cars can't been seen from the street I believe you can get this taken care of...THEN once its settled you put a BIG sign stickin up out of the 2 cars stating...YO, for the one that complained........:moonu: Who's ya daddy now!

I know what some people do when they have too many cars and not enough space to put them. They usually get rid of a few. :Do No:

I had a similar situation a few years ago. I bought a 68 parts car when I was restoring my 68 Conv. The day after I rolled the car off the trailer I had a notice that I had to get rid of the car or face fines (from the city). I did not even have time to get the car into my garage. I got home late and had to work the next day. I asked my neighbor if he did it. He said yes he did and that he did not want me to get the idea I could run an autobody/restoration shop out of my house. Holy cow was I mad. :af:
Needless to say the car was put into the garage and never seen by human eyes again until I sold it. I understand the rules but at least talk to me first. Many things can get worked out if people just talk to each other.:beer

Sounds like Driver2 is above the law. Well getting mad will cool off in time and retaliation is fun but can go to far.

My ideas were meant for fun and "usually" don't cause any damage, but I can see that his problem looks like it will get carried away. Sorry.

The things I do here are never at night when innocent neighbors are asleep. When they pull up in the afternoon or evening with the load music then I start target practice or if I am in the shop I crank up the race car. they usually get the message! I have been next door to get them to move there cars from my front yard where they push in my ditch, or if there is to many cars in their driveway they will turn around in my side yard. I hate to complain but I have gone over and said something directly to them in a nice way(no bad words). There was one neighbor who came over to complain and said lots of bad words that my 7 year old heard and he told me exactly what he said.

Here in Pitt county there is a new law stating that hunters can not have their dogs run on someone else's property. How can you control an animal that is running or tracking a deer?Impossible. Yet the county is growing and there is less room to hunt and less room for deer. So there is a rise in complaints and since the police are busier, the law may have to change. It is a big media topic now.

When I lived at home we used to find a hunting dog in Moms flower bed and would tie it to the tree out front and hold him for ransom. Which meant we would call them and tell them their dog was here and they would usually bring us some deer meat as we didn't do much hinting back then.

I hope this matter gets resolved soon!

As usual, my "emotions" are MISINTERPRETED here.

The guys who "really" don't know me, don't really "know" me.

When I "say" some things here, especially when I'm "mad" at someone, it is not always what I "WILL" do, but what I "FEEL" like doing. I realize the "consequences" of what would happen to me, if I actually DID the things I'd LIKE to do to someone else who's done me wrong. There are "limits", though! Everyone has a "point" that they get to, when they just say to themselves: "I've had ENOUGH!" Then, look out!:TU:

I am not "above" the law. I just don't "agree" with some of it (and it's just easier to go "through" it, than to go "around" it:Smarty: ). Tell them what they want to hear, and then go home.

If I get a Ticket out of it, for not moving these cars, then I will just pay the fine. Big deal.:Do No: The Money is NOT the issue, the whole ISSUE is the issue! I just want a REASON "WHY" someone called the cops about MY cars, when there are cars in WORSE condition than mine, RIGHT NEXT DOOR! No one "complained" about those, and his are in the FRONT yard, by the street! You can't even see mine unless you go into the BACK yard, behind the house!:Do No:

At this point, I don't even care WHO called, anymore, because I've had a "couple of days" to "COOL DOWN":TU:, and I've decided that I am just going to "sacrifice" ONE of my GS's, and I will register the OTHER one, to "keep PEACE" in the Neighborhood. I 've "offered" it to a buddy so we can "save" the one GS. I'm keeping my '72! The '70 is going (somewhere :Do No: I just got it last month, so I'm not "attached" to it yet, but I only have 3 days to get it gone!)
If they want it that bad, they can have it (that's why I own 3 OTHER ones! They won't take THOSE!:TU::Smarty: )

I can "forgive", but I do not "forget". I'm sure they'll find "something else" to complain about, but I'll be prepared for "next time". I'll give them one more chance before "retaliation", and then I'll get them where it hurts most
(I'll make them SPEND MONEY, in COURT. We'll start with HARRASMENT!):TU::laugh:

I think these are a bigger eyesore but nobody has any busniess in looking in it.
and it will get the "abandoned car" police off your back.

    ISSUE RESOLVED!:bglasses:

Thanks, guys, for helping me with ideas/advice!

I spent most of my morning at the police station, discussing my "options" to leave the cars where they are, without the neighbors being able to "cause any more problems" (if I can make the cars "legal", the neighbors can "complain" all they want to, but can't DO anything about it:laugh::TU:).!

The officer explained that since it's my Dad's "property" that MY CARS are on, then the Tickets will be issued to whoever owns the "property" (the Location of the vehicles), NOT who owns the "Cars".

I don't want my Dad to have to be involved, because it's not fair to HIM, if it's MY cars, and the Neighbors are causing problems.:Smarty:

So, I came up with the solution that will be good for ALL of us:

I am taking my cars HOME! To MY OWN garage!:TU:

I am NOT going to "register" the cars, like the cops/neighbors want me to, because I just DON'T WANT TO! It would cost me almost $400 to register BOTH cars, so I am NOT going to register EITHER ONE! :TU::Smarty:

I am just going to DRIVE the cars to MY house :)eek2: Let's see, expired plates,
    no "wheel tax" sticker,
    no insurance,
no seatbelts, probably "speeding" to get them home to AVOID getting caught in the first place:shock:

That's the "chance" I take, but I won't get caught, AT NIGHT, ON "BACKROADS" to my house.:Brow::TU: )., and put them in MY garage, "temporarily". (I'll be looking for a place to put them, for next "spring/summer", AGAIN, so I can work in my own garage at that time! :bglasses:)

I want my garage "space" (funny, I don't have ANY "space" in a 3 1/2 car garage, because of Buick parts.::laugh::Dou: ) for rebuilding my 455's, and transmissions, which is WHY I took them to my Dad's, in the first place!:Do No: Oh, well, I'll just have to deal with having "6" cars in my driveway this winter, instead of just "4".:Do No: :af:

All of my cars will be at MY house, so there will be no reason for anyone to "bother" my dad anymore, because of ME!:bglasses: LUCKY for THEM (whoever called and complained), that I'm a "NICE" guy (until I find out WHO called)!:af::laugh:

I need to buy a "FARM", with a LOT of LAND (and a LOT of BUILDINGS, so I can BUY more Buicks, AND "keep them out of sight"! Even though my Nearest "neighbor" would be a couple of miles away, I don't want to give them a REASON to "complain")

    Where's the Real Estate guide?:Do No: I know it's around here somewhere.:laugh::TU:

I'm glad you took some time to cool off and then talk with the police.

I live in a subdivision so when I bring a junk car home I usually get the parts I need and then take the car to Alans land near Rocky Mount which is 12 acres and well off the road. I let Alan get what he wants off the cars unless I have my name on it. Not bad for free storage.

I could hide my cars behind the shop near the woods, but I don't have to so I don't.

Take it easy and have someone follow behind you to get home so that no one will see that you have no tags.

And that's why I bought 12 acres out in the middle of nowhere! (well, almost!) I know that one day urban sprawl may have me next door to a subdivision, but by then I may be a cranky old coot and nobody will want to come near me, anyway!

Stay single and you can keep living out in the country!

Marriage is somewhat of a compromise (I only have 3 GS's) so living in a subdivision is not all my choice. BUT there are more people around and a lot lower chance of crime. AND it is a subdivision out in the country!

OH, thanks for buying some Cub Scout raffle tickets! I'll sent all the boys from the Tiger Den over to personally thank you.

I'm not recommending you write up a fake bill of sale for each of the cars. Most states have some provisions for getting a purchase home within 7 days of purchase by using your current plates. Without registration and insurance! Even if your state doesn't allow it, I'm not recommending you show the bill of sale to the officer (if you're stopped) and explain you are just getting it home so you can work on it through the winter for registration in the spring.

Taking advantage of the fact that the car hasn't been recently registered and the state doesn't have a record of it's sale and therefore couldn't prove you didn't just buy it would be wrong.

I certainly wouldn't tell you that this has worked several times for me, because that might lead you to do something illegal.
