Im 14, have had my boattail 455 since i was 12. $2,500 is a good price for me. Obviously i paid that for my car but anyways you should take your time looking for a nice car. You have quite a few cars to choose from, Riviera, Skylark, Wildcat, Estate Wagon, Sport Wagon, Park Ave., LeSabre, Electra, Electra 225, GS, and a Skyhawk. All of which can have V8's except for the Skyhawk. I would reccommed either a GS with the Sun coupe or a Skyhawk with the road hawk package. The Skyhawk started in 1975 with a 231 cid motor. It is a more rare car but somewhat more unique. But the Skyhawk also has a Astroroof for 1976. In 77' it got a new grille. Then in 78' it only had a v-6.
But the GS not to be outdone is still a cool car. And parts are more availible because of the Skylark. If you get a GS try to find a Sun coupe. Its really cool. Almost the whole roof opens up. All they are are a Gs hardtop with the Stage 1 455 and a vinyl sunroof.
But you can decide on your own. Last but not least if the Rivieras. I personly like then more than other buicks because i one one myself. From 1970 to 76 they had the 455. 71 to 73 had the "boattail window." I can show you and excellent 73' Riviera GS with stage 1 engine. $2350 is all it will take. Its rust free, doesnt run, is missing a few parts in the dash and interior isnt great. Check it out at http://www.azclassics.com/gmcars/73riviera/index.shtml They also have a nice 77' century that runs and drives for $1400. It looks like the Skyhawk. http://www.azclassics.com/gmcars/77century/index.shtml

Back to what i said. These are the buicks i like but there are many more out there. Alot of nice ones are from the 80's too. Its your choice so be sure what you want to do. Have fun with it and enjoy it. From finding the car to making it drivable and getting it to where you want to. A great book you should rear if your serious is "How to Restore Your collector Car" It gives you everything from finding it to what you should do to it and everything in between. Look in borders books. Good Luck Hope this helps. Its nice to know a chick out there likes and knows her muscle cars.
