Those are big car wheels. He's measuring the bolt circle wrong in that one pic.

I sent him a message thru eBay. We'll see if he corrects the description.

As far as I know, Buick never made a small pattern Riviera/big car wheel. Those are definitely Riviera/big car wheels in the pictures in the auction. Maybe they're miss-stamped?

my 2 bits....center of hole to center of hole, i'd say there 4-3/4" as described...not 5", however i am Canadian and only know the metric system so what the heck do i know...cheers,
ps...i did buy a set of NOS 5 on 5 for my 69 wildcat so they do exist, maybe 2nds off the assy line?

You measure from the center of one hole to the far edge two holes over. Using that method those are clearly 5 x 5 wheels (aside from the general shape). 15 x 7 is unusual as I believe those came much later and were found mostly on wagons. Of course, if he's measuring the bolt pattern incorrectly, there's nothing to say he isn't measuring the rim width incorrectly too. Outside lip to outside lip on a 6" rim is probably close to 7".

I agree with Mark that JJ is an A-body code as I've had some of those. Maybe he has his pictures mixed up? :Do No:

The "JJ" on the wheel signifies the rim contour

So, those are some fairly rare NOS wheels there, I suppose, given that most were 15 x 6.

Yes, that is the absolute correct way to measure, but it's the centers of each stud all the way around. The problem faced with a 5 lug wheel is there is no diametrically opposite hole to measure to, so the common method is to do what I mentioned above. If you look at your diagram, take the cord length that splits the centerline (12 o'clock to 6 o'clock) and swing it to the hole left or right of six o'clock. You'll find that the cord is longer than the center of the hole- pretty much in the case of our Buick wheels goes to the farthest point of that hole.

So, you are absolutely correct in posting that diagram, but if you're looking center to center in the picture posted in the auction, you're conclusion will be incorrect as the holes being measured are not 180 degrees opposite, but only 144 degrees.

So...will those wheels fit on a big Buick, or on a Skylark?

LOL, you're right about that! I'm guessing '70 and down = no and '71 and up = yes?

Judging by the size, I would say mid 70s early 80's Electra or wagon.
