Actually Phil................ While I was in I had to get my "Adrenaline fix" without the luxury of a Buick. Soooooo along with landing helicopters on the ship underway as a L.S.E.(i could tell you some stories about that, lol), I was also one of the ships swimmers. Meaning that if something unfortunate happened to a shipmate and they fell overboard, I would actually JUMP IN and assist them. No big deal really until you jump the first time and realize that there is NO bottom in the ocean :eek2: . And then you get to wait till the boat turns (like a 6 mile turn radius there) around to come and pick you up. A little wait is involved to say the least, lol. Good time though, and I am proud that I got to serve my country and pay a little back. later.....................

Question for Joe Joe: if we ever grow up, do we have to start over with young and stupid again? Nice to see I'm not the only old goat on the board. Good luck, Walt

Walt, Growing old is a fact of life, but growing up is optional!! I don't really plan on ever growing up! :beer :beer :beer :bglasses: :beer :beer PS When I was born ,the dead sea wasn't even sick! ( so I must REALLY be old )
Growing old Joe, I guess we are not that far apart in age. I'm comming up on 69 in 2-05. I retired in March, 2000 from a civil service job in Minnesota. I moved so far out in the woods I have to go down in the basement every week and tighten up the phone line so I can hear people when they call. BTW, I have a sister in law and her husband up in Hillman Mi. The world just got a whole lot smaller!!!!!! I'm begining to get a little paranoid!!! Good luck, Walt
Walt, I turned 70 in August, and have been retired from Chevrolet for 15 years. My kids and I had a family drag race to celebrate my birthday, and we had 7 Buicks and a Camaro in the race. My middle son won the race, but he was running my 37 Buick street rod. His name is also Joe, so in the record books, Joe T won in a 37. I just don't tell anyone it was the kid. PS I live just outside of Flint, which is often refered to as : Buicktown :beer
