This is my first time posting a pic, hope that it works. Details/stuff I've done so far: 1970 Buick Skylark Custom Disc brake conversion/tall spindles w/ GW upper arms Del-a-lum sp? bushings 12 bolt rear w/3.73's SSM lift bars/tubular uppers Car has 90k miles, have original window sticker Interior all original Mostly original paint Car originally a 350-4 (285hp) still in my garage, nothing wrong with it, it just leaked a quart every 5 miles. Right now she is C***y powered, (I know, I know) I regret putting it in there, but it does go kinda fast.... well, for a C***y), I am building up a 455, hopefully will be in there by early spring. Shooting for high 11's. :crosses fingers:
Thanks! I'm glad the pics work! Tires are: 15x7 235/60/15 front 15x8 275/50/15 rear I've actually been looking for some rallyes for the stock look. Here is a pic of the int:
Very nice lookin car! Good luck with the 455 build-up! I hope it goes smooth for you. Now that you are part of our group, maybe you can add your first name to your signature?
Don't know what to say about that Chevy motor but... Look's Great . Have fun putting a real motor in !!:Brow: :Brow: :TU:
I'm glad to hear that you're dropping a BBB in it!! Funny that alot of Chevy powered Buicks also have Cragars.........I think the two kind of go together. Good Luck on making your Buick a real Buick!:TU:
To post multiple pics at one time you need to have them hosted on a web server, then you link to them from within the thread. I find it easier to post one at a time...
Thanks for all the positive comments everyone. Will have lots of questions for you all as the project moves along. I have already found lots of useful information here.
Very nice car:TU: Personally I think the 1970 and 1967 Skylarks are two of the best looking American made cars ever built. Maybe someday I'll pick up a '67. Don't forget that the tranny has to go to put a Buick engine in there, or you'll need some type of adapter plate (6 bolts for the Buick tranny, don't you know!)
Very possible. I had read that part but I wasn't sure, sometimes you just yank them out as a unit and never break the tranny apart from the engine, so I thought I'd toss in the tranny advice just in case he had pulled them out together and didn't know the differences yet:TU: That would be a nasty surprise:grin:
Yeah, I actually have a TH400 that came with the 455 that I plan on using, although I think it is a long tail. The 455 engine and tranny came from a 73 LeSabre. :TU:
Very nice looking car. Can't say I've seen it around town yet. I'd remember. I really like that original blue paint... A large red 455 under the hood will make for beautiful contrast with the exterior paint..
Donovan, are you in Austin? You know we have a little Austin group thing goin here, and hopefully sometime in the near future we are going to put together a monthly get-together. Where abouts in Austin are you?
