Sounds cool. I'm afraid if I come I'd be showin' up in a Pontiac... I've just about gotten rid of the last of my Buick stuff since I never found a suitable replacement for my T-top Regal.... Maybe I can hitcha ride with Steve...
oh, ok. I'm putting two and two together now. So who is the one in town with the Red '72 Skylark with the Halo-vinyl top?
In my opinion the car is done no justice by the pics. That's a tight clean car you have! Happy to see my ol' 455 going in it. :bglasses:
Steve, just out of curiosity, what kind of gas mileage do you get in town and on the highway? I agree, those pictures don't do your car justice. I wish I had an aunt that had such fine taste in cars, and the foresight to keep it in good shape for 33 years!
With the buick 350 it made about 12 mpg in town, a little better on the highway, although I never drove it on the highway that much. (that was when it had highway gears, so I imagine it would have been pretty decent) With the chebby 383, 7 mpg if I keep my foot out of it. My thinking is the 455 ought to get better mileage, because it won't have to strain as hard to get going right? o No:.......
That's about what I am getting, 12 MPG in town with my Aqua GS350. It has the standard 3.23 gears, and seems to run OK. That's about 1/2 town 1/2 highway. My GS455 gets about 8 MPG with 2.93s, mild cam, headers, etc. Pretty much stock otherwise. I don't think I would be expecting much more than 5 or 6 with those kind of gears you got :eek2: .
Your car looks great!!! I love the nostalgic cragar looks too. Looks like you got one heck of a ride going there. John
