Thanks Bob and Dan!!!! Even though the weather didn't cooperate for Sat, I still had a great time. The car seemed to run fine and I got my best 60ft on back to back runs in the right lane. I'm not quite ready to say the electrical issues are solved, but time will tell.

Steve C and I finally lined up our GT-37s on Fri, something we've been wanting to do for a few years. Well, it would have been a great race .... had I not missed 3rd gear  We were even paired up for the shootout on Sat, which I was REALLY looking forward too. But alas, it wasn't meant to be.

Only casualty I had was another trailer tire blowout about 25 miles from home on I-80. Very minimal damage to the trailer as compared to the one on July 31 which if you saw my trailer fri or sat, you saw what it did. Luckily I bought the warranty from Discount Tire as the last replacement only cost me $17.

We would also like to thank Dan & Bob.
Another record turnout, once again proving that this is the superbowl of Musclecar Drag Racing.

I also blew a trailer tire on the home stretch, but got it stopped before any damage to the trailer. Damn cheap-ass chinese trailer tires:af:

    As usual, the parking lot party was a blast.....Great people,Great Food,Great laugh's,and this year Great (*) (*)'s.:eek2:

It was very nice to see everyone. I spoke with Mom when I got home this evening and she inferred it was a wash (pun not intended) due to the weather, but I still consider this weekend a success because at this point it's about the people.

Big thanks to Bob, Dan and their crew for providing such a good time for us racers. Friday was a blast!

As for Saturday, well stuff happens. I did get a piece of Bob K's birthday cake so it wasn't a total loss (you can never go wrong with chocolate).

    Thanks again!

    To all:

Thank you again for making this the best time of my year!!!!!:beer  As for the event getting rained out on Saturday, it reminds me that the important thing about this event is the friends first, cars are secondary!!!!

First: My pit mates, Ty, Tommy Gunn and Danny, Frank and Karen, and of course Steve. Thanks for making sure the tires did not walk away on there own, but I saw Frank eyeing those E70-14's!!!!! You kept me fed and as hard as it was for Karen, kept me out of trouble. I know that Karen will have a special bar of soap for me and my mouth next year!!!:Dou:

Next: RDL, Bruno, Pete and the rest of the Crazy Canadians: Thanks for the friendship, food, and good times. Even though I had beer in the back of my truck, you guys made certain that I had one before I got to my cooler. I am grateful to have you guys on my friends list!!! Thanks for the laughs, fellowship and food!!!!

Also: Paul and Tami, Kurt and Wave, Tim and Rhonda, Yovanne and Jeremy, Brian, Casey, and the Three Rivers Gang........ what can I say!! It may have been a sunburn, but I think I am still blushing.:spank: :bla: :Dou:  You guys are all great and I am happy to be a member of this club. Jello Jigglers and Mardi Gras beads are a deadly combination. Happy Birthday Tim Miller! :birthday: Also, the introduction of Danielle and 'Little Miss Sunshine' and the Clary Montego. The world also missed out on the stunning announcement-- Tim in the Chevelle wins!!

Mr. Payne and Mr. Place..... Always great to travel with you from the House of Payne and the Garagemahal. Tom, thanks for having the patience to pace us so that we all get better fuel mileage. I believe that we need to get a bug shield for your truck so that it reads in reverse "DO NOT STOP IN FRONT OF ME!!!!" I am glad that we did not meet like we could have!!!!:Dou:

BK, Paul, 12 Sec Bee, Mr. Regatti, and Peelerboy--- even though you drive Mopars, you guys are alright by me!!:Dou: Happy B-day to BK!!:birthday:

Steve, Jim, Eddy (sr. and Jr.), Mr. AMX , Dr. Muson and his pretty assistant Amy, and all of the Chi-town Hustlers-- cheers to you and so glad that you could make it.:beer We need better weather and late night drags like Martin!!!!:bglasses:

Chuckie and 'The Mayor' -- Always glad to be able to help out friends and I have to make it out to your part of the world. Hope you had safe travels home.

Benoit and the Mahers-- Thank you so much for the fish fry and the food with spice. Every time your fish is cooked like that, I am reminded of my Grandpa. I want to thank you for that!!!:bglasses: Eric M.-- Next time we meet, you and I definately have to line up on the dance card. It would have been a great shoot out, as you would have seen a lot of my quarter and I would have been paddling hard to stay in front on the back half!!!!!:bla:

Another shout out to Steve for being a great travel partner. We were joking whose truck was the most dependable for the trip home. We both were back at the house by 11 AM!!! And thank you to Mr. Vanderwall for showing me your parts room!!!! That is just sick!!!!!

:TU: Many thanks to Dan and Bob for another well-executed year. Heck, the rain Saturday didn't seem to be that big a deal after the great time all day Friday under happy skies.

'Good to meet Donny Brass, Rusty Small, and Steve Hodges this year...plenty of time to wander the pits during Saturday's "delay of game" that ultimately became a 365-day postponement.

Team Studebaker was happy to contribute a record 11 cars to the record 167 entries...including first-timer Steve Doerschlag and his three-car hauler all the way from central Colorado carrying three 1964 Studebaker "F" bodies (2-door sedans). Most people bring one car the first time they compete...Steve brought two, and George Krem's Plain Brown Wrapper to boot!

'Also want to thank Dan and Bob for their hospitality, accommodating Ted Harbit and the rest of us Wednesday at Dan's place to Certify Stock (which they did) Ted's Regal Red 1963 Lark Custom 2-door, The Stude Tomato. It had previously been Certified Stock with its original R2 engine, which has been removed and placed aside in good shape.

The new Certification was for the higher-horsepower R3 engine (highest Studebaker ever produced; rated 335 HP) Ted built for the car this summer. The engine arrived at Dan's with virtually no break-in and not so much as one quarter-mile run, owing to the machine shop's inexcusable delays all summer long, prepping the basic block for Ted's personal assembly.

All's well that ends well; the newly-Certified Stock R3 engine pushed the little brick over 112 mph in the quarter for the first time on Friday during practice.

Thanks again to all and 'looking forward to seeing everyone next year.

    Wow
Thanks Dan and Bob. I personally had a great time. It was great to be actually racing for the first time in over a year! My car ran perfectly and was happy with the performance! As I told Terry, " I think this rain has helped Julie dodge a bullet!" (and the smack talk continues).:bla::Dou:
The parking lot party was over the top:beer As was Bob's 60th birthday party cake:birthday: Can you believe that??????
Nice to see everyone talking about what great time it was, cause...... it was!
Congrats to Team Studebaker with the 112 mph. That my friends, is impressive!
Looking forward to next year, and hey...... the track was actually pretty good this year.
Wait till you see this Yenko Nova kick some A$$
