Purchased this very original 38221 mile.... 1970 Buick Skylark Post Sedan today. Everything works as it should. Car has been in the Chicago area all its life. I found the car just a few miles from my parents house. Car drives so nice, I even blew out the cob-webs on the drive home and pushed her to any easy 100mph She evens come with the original "Rubber Mat" Tomorrow I go buy Mia a new "Brown" child seat Ha, funny... a third eye brake light "Rubber Mat" Dan
Nice find Dan...Is this an annual Oct 13 deal? I saw in your signature you purchased another post car Oct 13 of last year. :TU:
Omg!!!!!!!!!!!!! That steering wheel is so odd looking. I know it's supposed to be there, just odd. Cool find. How much??
Dan I don't think I even have to tell you what I think about this car but I will anyway..... WOW I Like It! One thing is for sure, that guy in the last photo doesn't look too happy about selling it!! One very unusual item that I really like is the ultra plain rear bumper that doesn't even have the "BUICK" plate in the center! I guess they left it off and saved a couple of bucks by installing the smaller and cheaper trunk emblem. I noticed it has the second design radiator overflow (black lid) and the second design lenses (flat) on the speedo, but it has the 1st design (plastic) radiator cover. Was this car built around late Dec - Jan 70 in the transition period? A really neat time capsule you got there. And it was right there in your area.
great find dan! can i ask how you found it? elmhurst is not far from my house. looks like a great survivor. keep it out of the snow and salt this winter.:TU:
Gary, I knew you`d like this car....and I knew you`d catch some of these quirks about this car. The car was built 06D.... Fourth week of June. Can anyone tell me what 04035 means? Since this car is a base line built Skylark Post Sedan.... its going to have the usual quirks about it. The rear bumper is correct, no Buick name plate on a 1970 Post Sedan. It has the correct deck lid Buick name plate. It has the correct bottom "Spear" rocker panel trim. What I taught was unusual is that this car was ordered with hidden wipers.... 90% of all Post Sedans came with non hidden wipers. I am unclear about one thing....if someone can educate me on this? The few 1970 Buick Post Sedans that I have seen, including this one....do not have the radiator core support cross bars? Were these cross bars on just GS cars? Dan.
