I did mine and I thought I could add a little something to this thread. Although, the best we can do is testers silver paint pen for the raised edges. I was able to purchase some chrome vinyl or whatever it is off ebay for $6. Its like aluminum foil in thickness. And the backside is nice and sticky. I was able to lightly stick it and pull it up for positioning purposes and it still looked and worked great.

The radio bezel was all rubbed out on the sides. The large top part is a little scratched but over all nice. What I show in the picture is the tri angle sides that I covered. Its hard to show how the chrome is gone and black is exposed in these pictures. But anyone here who is looking at this knows. This really worked great and it seems to be stuck on very good. We will see what happens when the summer heat hits it. But for now I dont have $350 for a new repop. If your good with an exacto knife your results should be better then mine. I might as well have used an axe. LOL!

You folks are inspiring me. I need to pull my cluster to replace bulbs and fix a broken mount for the a/c control. I bought some chrome spray paint I was going to try for the radio bezel; has anyone used chrome spray paint? If so, what kind of results can I expect?

Wow, great timing on this! I was looking at doing a cheapie tune up on my dash bezel as well this year. I know from past experience that the Testors silver paint pen is not great so I did some reading (ain't google great?). Tamiya has a chrome silver paint pen that is supposed to be much better. Problem is I had to order it from Hong Kong via EBAY as it doesn't seem to be available in the USA. I have not tried it out yet as my previous experiences with paint pens is that once open you have a limited time to use them or they dry out. The vinyl adhesive is an interesting idea and for the money I ordered a small sheet to play with...
