This could be the X-Camino proto-type... Just add some stripes.... http://www.bpgforums.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=14457
I've been talking with Mr. Joseph (owner of the car) for a couple years assisting him with posting pictures of the car on the BCA site. Couldn't be a nicer guy. Please read the thread on the BCA forum and see what this car is all about. A tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen, and the car is modeled off of one of the fighter planes that they flew. It happened to be the biggest and heaviest fighter in the fleet...hence the "das boat" car. It is still a work in progress, and is coming together VERY nicely. It has one of Scotty's engines in it.:Brow: He gave a few folks a test ride around the lot too. The car's name is "Faithful Pursuit" ....classy! I don't know how you can get more patriotic than that...:beer
I wish I could have seen it in person :TU: Adam, Where were you on Thursday? I thought for sure you would show up at the drags even if they were only 1/8 mile o No:
I was under the impression that the whole program got axed. I ended up being busy with other things, anyway. But there was so much negative vibe about the racing that I kinda just let it pass without really looking into seeing if it was still a go. The next day, I talked to Roberta for a bit. She smacked me around for not showing up:laugh::spank: Oh well!! I'll get my fill in Salem:beer
I have nothing but respect for that car and what it represents. Very cool car and story too. It would not be the first time that any of us on this board commented on someone or something without knowing the whole story. Relax.
I did not start this post to draw negative comments about the car. I actually think it is cool and that was before I knew the whole story :TU: Adam, Roberta slapped me around pretty good at the track, showing me what a '68 GS400 should do down the track :3gears: Someday I will beat you Roberta....(when you miss a gear p ).. :beer
