I wish he would be using TA’s cams, and references being in touch with Mike several times throughout the video series. General consensus here is that Comp Buick cams are inferior, correct?

I'd rather see him just use an SP1 and custom ground turbo cam ..with those stock heads it would benefit from a well thought out cam grind

I might work with his son up here in New York. If so the man passed away. I think they are selling or sold the car. If it’s him I bet he was pretty cool. His son is a real solid guy I see all the time.

Comp can grind anything. I have one. 274 extreme energy. Works ok. Sounds friggin mean. Going to re degree it to see if I can tame it and make more power. The need for speed never ends.....

I’m sure holdener uses who he he can deals with. Glad he is supporting and enjoying Buick Power.

The only problem with the most common Comp cams are they haven't changed their 3 main cams in 30 years, always single pattern. I wouldn't get excited about TA products being used unless Mike starts sending him things(free). I'd bet Comp and Edelbrock are. I said earlier and I'll stand by it that he slams in a 268H. 218/218 @.050" but at 110* LSA. Single pattern good for a turbo engine, but too tight LSA. You never know though, maybe a custom cam is coming.

The exhaust manifolds could be a shortcoming down the road. Maybe a set of TA shorty headers?

Peak HP was at something like 3850 rpm, peak torque actually down below 3000 rpm. If it wasn't for emissions checks in PA I'd be swapping out the currently hurt LT1 in my Roadmaster tow wagon, no turbo necessary.

The manifolds ability will exceed the blocks ability,..the pass side is actually pretty decent the driver is a bit constricted but being iron they will keep the heat in allowing faster travel to a degree,...good thing about a turbo is the engine's shortcomings are just a turn of a knob away from not being an issue haha,..till stuff decides to take a vacation

I think 4500 and under could take a good amount of boost.
Always thought a 400 and running no more than 5000 would take most hp. Good deal more meat in the bores at least....

Mike When are you getting Antique Tags (25 years) no more emissions not sure about classic tag with emissions

I don't think the state would take kindly to my using the wagon with Antique tags on while towing a trailer with the '76 on top of it. Plus it is my daily driver and there are restrictions on how you use the car with those tags.

Just admit that you were too busy pulling your LS and scheming up another turbo v8 Buick build..

Ahhaha I wish. I am actually waiting on some hardware parts for the LS build.
And i was actually working. That was weird... havent had that in a long time with all that Covid home office BS.
But i am sure after Richard's videos there will be a few buick folks interested in a BBB turbo build.
Maybe somebody should re-activate Mark Burton with his kits.
I actually got his last kit for the sbb he told me.

I been trying to get guys to do budget turbo builds fo years,...I would but I've just got too many other projects,..thinking maybe my crusty 52 special should get the treatment,...

Got a nice 72 low mileage engine,...a S400,...10lb gate,..and see how she does,..

if you mock up a 68-72 A-Body passenger side single Turbo setup i am sure you can sell them.
But i guess you know that ;)

My understanding had been that once you approached 550-600 hp territory you were pushing the stock block and at the least looking at a main stud girdle to make it live for any length of time. Is that more to do with rpm than power, or are the loads seen with a turbocharger really that different from what you'd encounter making the same number n/a? Either way, I like his videos, plus he's got a 500 Caddy to try out and those are okay too
