    CTX_SLPR,
I admire your creativity. Despite the fact I own a 65 Riv, i still think you embody the spirit that made hot rodding great, pushing limits and thinking outside the box. Hell, fabricating the box yourself!
Full speed ahead man, i'd love to see some images of the project.

Well I used a '64 LeSabre 300 V8 pan which I sectioned the front 2cyl worth out of and rewelded back together. It works and clears despite the engine's 3.5in forward location from where that oil pan is designed to work from. The R4 AC compressor hit the upper control arm at the normal position and I was out of time to try something else so I just moved it forward. It ran, search CTXSLPR on Youtube and you'll see my various runs (plus cute videos of my son!!). It had oil pressure issues (like 0 pressure unless externally primed) so I pulled the engine once I moved to C-Springs. I fixed the oil pump but am waiting to graduate from Grad School before I put it back in to test the oil pump and a fuel pump wiring mod I did. If the oil pressure is fixed I'm going to reengineer the accessory drive and move the engine back as far as I can for more plumbing clearance and a better weight distribution.
