Wow they do sell normal replacement parts. And they have a decent selection. I had no idea.

I have a real project I need to do, rebuild my rear suspension. I thought I'd compare pricing. I chose the exact same parts (brand/part #) from each store.

Sorry for the tiny font on the Rockauto stuff, that's just their website.

Cart - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing.jpg RockAuto.jpg

Summit is ~$2 higher but they are surprisingly competitive as far as the entire cost of the transaction. (Summit - $181.62; RA - 179.25)

The springs are the same cost, but the other parts from Summit are a bit more. But Summit has free shipping over $99 vs RA charging to ship from 2 sites. Finally Summit collects tax, RA apparently does not.

The scope of the project has not been kept quiet at all, only the tenant was unknown until yesterday, and it was rightfully guessed to be Amazon. There was already protesting and all of the negatives were hashed out already. It will affect a lot in the area where it will be, but for us, we’re too far away.

Rock auto ships full price from Long Island. They must have a warehouse in Hempstead for some products. I would pick it up. But honestly I try not to use rock auto.
I use local stores and summit or Jegs or SK speed and of course TA Performance.
Rock auto always seems cheap till the final price including using 3 warehouses for 3 parts.

Call summit and see what they will do.
On tax it depends where you are. I believe when I did use rock auto for a friend they charged tax.
I could be wrong. I am in New York.

I have noticed the popularity of online shopping has started to wane.

I am not implying that Amazon or rock auto are going out of business or hurting in anyway..

However everyone has some online shopping horror story. Whether its a shipping issue, an impossible return situation or getting the wrong product. Slowly folks are getting tired of it..

Some shoppers are starting to appreciate and remember the service and value that comes with brick and mortar stores.

Holding a product in your hand before buying it is worth way more than any picture.
