Let's see- driveshaft out, exhaust out, one axle missing, transmission tailshaft out, need parts, hood won't fit- Yeah, I'm ready for Stanton. Bringing the 67 Ford Fairlane, will try to wash it this time. Hoping to improve on my Martin time of 12.85, can't get a 60 ft under 2.00. Looking forward to some good times....

At last I've made a name for myself! Not a particularly good name, but a name. It's better than what my wife calls me.:spank: Can we eat burgers or barbecue at the Frank Nats?

Frank Nats---Is that anything like fruit flies???

One week from today we will be pulling into the parking lot. Make sure to leave enough space for me!!! Just have to change an exhaust manifold gasket, get the rear tank operational, and find a solid power supply for the trailer clearance lights (all on the truck). I also am going to pull the antifreeze out of the Hurst. Meanwhile my boss is in town on Tuesday night and I am writing this while I am in Vegas! Git-R-Done!!

well, interesting day yesterday. struggled to get the hood on the GT-37. Well, it's on. only a couple small scratches but I can live with that. I verified that the other hood hinge, the one that was taking all the stress because the driver side one was bad, is bad and needs to be replaced. Makes sense, but having another set of eyes around helped confirm. Oh and the battery puked. Good thing it happened in my garage versus at Stanton. The battery is 6 years old so it was only a matter of time. Surprised it lasted as long as it did. Took the battery I just bought a few days ago for the W-31 and put that in the GT-37. No issues. What is it with me and batteries? :Do No: I got to thinking, the battery in my F-85 is at least 4 years old

The car is all ready. I don't think I'm going to tempt fate and screw around with anything else. I do need to put gas in the car though

Larry's LS6 Vette is all finished up. Hot lashed the valves the other day and it is patiently waiting its trip to Stanton.

Everyone on this end is ready but me. I will not make the call on RA IV T/A or Judge until Wednesday for the HPP Thursday Shoot out. Cutting it tight? Why not. If the Judge gets the call it will mean I likely go back and pick up the SC/360 for the PS racing. I really want to let the Judge convalesce.

Pete I am sure Larry would love a rematch with you as that would mean he picked up a lot of ET with the repair work so he could match you.

Just a humble uninformed guess at the upcoming pairings. I am making my predictions but not which of the two cars in each pairing will be the quicker of the two just that they will meet up.

    Julie L88 Vette
    Jimmy L88 Vette

    Bob K Hemi Cuda
    Copo ZL1 Camaro

    Rob C Yenko Camaro
    Larry LS6 Vette

    Jim S Lift Off Bee
Insert here: Tim C, Paul P, less likely Bruno, Scott Tieman, or myself and about six other fast cats including guys like Jim L. the RI crew etc. have a shot.

This should get the heated debate going.

I predict that once againt he 11 second party will be an all Mopar and Chevy fest I hate to say.

Anyone want to man or lady up which ever the case and predict your own or anothers ET with the good air?

I predict Donny will not blow a head gasket, bend a valve or have any other failure. ET: 13.10 @ 106 mid 1.90's short time. The good air could push this one even lower.

Jeff Sawruk will bring a new small cube motor to the 12 second club with the rebuilt 350 HO. Sorry Jeff I do not mean to jinx anything on a fresh motor just thoughtful encouragement and faith. You will join the LT1 Vette, Boss 351 and W31 entries in this all to exclusive happening.

If the rain stays away it is going to be exciting no matter what. When was the last time the event had 60 degree weather? If it happens (no rain) , there are going to be some fast cars when they stick. Their shouldn't be a sad face in the crowd or on a participants face. It's going to be good.....................AS USUAL.

    Jim:gp:

I don't know if I should be on your list Mark but thanks! Good to hear Scott Tiemann will be running something this year.

Rumour has it that Dudek will be driving a Hemi car.
I'm betting that Bob's 6 PAK comes back out of retirement with vengence!
Of course, that just a rumour!:Dou:
Mark. Thanks for putting me in the top 4. That's one position higher than last year!

Pulled the car out yesterday and washed a coupla months of dust off it. Then here comes this huge black cloud out of nowhere and rained cats and dogs on it, me, and pretty much nothing else.

Bad sign. Nice rinse, though. :beers2: :beers2:
