So what are the new cars coming into town on Sept 13-14th?

I don't often get a chance to check in here anymore but it is that time of year...

I will have Special K there ready to fill out the front row. A new fuel pump is ready to install. At 4 psi at idle and 3 at 6000 rpm I figured it might be time to dump the tiny little original thing they called a pump. Mostly it is all filter and little pump but even at 289 cubes I figured it deserved better. It is its first time at Stanton. But I started playing with it last fall to get it ready. It went 14.71 @ 94.10 at Martin this spring, faster than ever expected. Completely happy with the little thing. It was never built for PS and is my wives car.

It is matched up against Jody and his potent 350 Goat for the MCACN shootout thingy. Jody has been putting the coals to his Goat to get it K Code stomping ready. Virtually every part sans the steering wheel is updated and ready to make more or better use of the power the Goat makes. This will be the Goats breakout run at Stanton.

Larry is bringing out for the first time his '70 Jav T/A. One of the 100 red/white/blue cars. It is a 390 Go Pack 4spd car with very rare factory 3.90 gear. It has never been rebuilt and smokes a little. It should help with the bugs or cover up the cow stench a bit at least.

I have it on good faith that a new rocket dressed in black will be showing up and should be a mean one!

 

I can neither confirm nor deny a 71 GT-37 455HO M-22 will be there. I can also neither confirm nor deny an auto version of the car may be there also. actually the auto one was supposed to show up last year, but didn't.

I should have a 428 CJ Mustang there just dont know if its going to be a blue 69 one or a red 68 1/2 one yet .Its almost done but bringing an untested fresh car sometimes bites you hard and I want to have fun.

 

Team Studebaker will be fielding a 1955 Commander for the first time. This is a new fella with little experience, so don't expect anything too dramatic.

BTW: 1955 is the first model year allowed at the event. Has there been a 1955 anything there previously? Corvette?
