running or rebuilt buick 350/455 wanted in SoCAl

i am looking for a original running or rebuilt buick 350 in southern California, to place into my 1972 skylark. my engine is crappin' out and is in need of a rebuild, but is my daily driver so i cannot afford to take it out and not be able to use my car. that's why i want to get another, do a swap over a week or so, then eventually rebuild the engine in my car and make a dune buggy or street rod or something with it.

please email or pm me. Staircasesurfer@gmail.com
    thanks,
    Alex

it wont be that easy to get an engine in socal with a post here, most people arent even in ca, your best bet is try to locate a used engine at a junk yard or one of those places that take the engine out for you, if you do buy an engine from out of state, think about it twice as you will end up paying the same money on shipping that you would have if you bought a local engine, good luck

A buddy up here in Santa Clarita, CA has one in a LeSabre that we are about to replace w/a 455. He says it runs great, no wierd sounds or smoke. I will alert him to this thread.

Alex, it's my 350 and it currentley sits in a 72 LaSabre convertivle I have. It's just finding the time to stuff the 455 in there and remove the 350. Now, there are several 455s in the local paper, recycler.com. One of those may be had for the price of a 350 at memory Lane. A friend of mine also has a 455, that he personally pulled from a car, can't remember what year, but he said it was running extremely well, that would also come with a parts 455, albeit rusty etc. I think he said he wants 500 for both. You can PM me here, go through John or whatever.

There's a 71 Lesabre at the pick a part in burbank right now. Running condition of course unknown, but it could be yours for around 100-150$. If you have a truck I could help you pull it.

thanks for all the replys, memory lane told me they have one for $350 rebuildable

WELL Today my engine finally quit, went out with a bang too, AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
going down the highway it started knocking really bad, oil light was not on. just as i was going to pull into my driveway the light came on, and the engine sounded like it was going to explode, stuck it into neutral and turned the engine off and coasted into my driveway. i checked the oil, seemed fine, tried to start it again, and now it doesnt want to (F***) its done, it turns over however doesn't run. SO NOW I REALY NEED TO GET A NEW ENGINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    what a great day,
    -Alex

Alex. I left a phone message for that friend of mine that has a good running 455 plus a parts 455. Now, you would need to change only the frame mounts and they can be had. Perhaps a change in the exhaust system. Let me know your thoughts as you really didn't say in the last post. Wanna help if I can.

Alex, there have been several replies directing you toward a motor. So what are your thoughts? You've not contacted me directly and, as stated above, I kbnow of a running 455 and parts to go with it for 500. Also the 350 currently in the laSabre will be available shortly. So, contact someone about these engines that are out there and we can help. "Still Looking" doesn't give anyone any feedback on what they have submitted.

    72 350

Alex, I have two 72 Skylark 350 2BBL engines, still in the cars, here in San Diego. I'd like to get $275 each or $375 each with engine and auto transmission. If you decide you want one, I will remove it and steam clean it after you hear it run. Thanks,
