    Dana, Beth and Liam,

We all pray that Liam has a swift recovery.

Kids heal fast, and even more importantly, they forget pain quicker than adults.

    Please keep us posted.

    Update

    Hello Everyone,
First just let me say THANK YOU ALL!!!!! for all your good vibes & prayers. You have brought me to tears, I can't say enough good things about this board & how it's like one big family.

The staff at Children's were waiting for us when we arrived, did a few more Xrays, then he had 2 lower GI's with berium, the problem area was well seen, surgons were watching & decided to take him up to the O.R. then & there, at 6:30 pm he went in, he was out by 8:30, they removed a section of intestion, where the small meets the large & they removed his appendix, (cause they could). The doctor came out told us it went wonderfully & that , that section had many Binine polyps in it & that is what caused all of this. Liam is now recovering, with a Kiddy sized Morphin drip (wish I had that last night), will be on clear liquids starting tomorrow for a few days then on to soft food & as soon as he takes a good BM, he'll be able to eat what he wants. :TU: He'll be in Children's for 5 -7 days, so Dana & I are taking shifts spending the night & through out the day, so that Liam is never alone.

Again BIG HUGE THANKS to all of you, your good Buick vibes worked. I'm sure Liam will want to post a picture of his "cool" scar when he gets home

    Take care,
    Beth

    Buick people are the best!

Beth and Dana, that's the best news! We'll keep rootin' for a fast and safe recovery. And hopes for no problems in the future.

I know what you mean about the tears. When Loyd was in the hospital in January, that was when we had our meeting at Caspers. Someone brought a get-well card and everyone there signed it. I took it to him after the meeting, and we both were so touched by what all was said. And people helped wth the meeting, and with some stuff around here the following week. Some of our Buick friends are as close to us as family.

You guys take care of yourselves, too.

Very sorry to hear you are having to go through this. Nothing in the world like children. Nothing in the world compares to worry with them when something is wrong. You will have my prayers. Good luck.

Being 28 years old I still have my scar, it's just another battle wound. I'm glad it went well for him and there were no complications. When I was going to the hospital I went for the same thing. They thought it was a blockage and said it would've only been a couple hour surgery, no biggie. What happened was they saw the growth was the blockage and it took them over 7 hours to remove. I spent 4 days in intensive care and 10 more days after that, with being watched for the next 2 years from possible complications. I'm just glad he didn't have to go through the same thing I had to. If it wasn't for my parents taking me to the hospital that night the doctors said the next morning I would've died. It's amazing how mother's have that internal instinct. Well, now that the bad stuff is gone, it'll only be good from now on :)

    Beth and Dana,

Although we have never met I have been following this board for quite a while and am a past member of the Chicagoland chapter (back when I had the GN) and just wanted to say that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have a five year old boy, Mason, and a two year old girl, Hannah. I can't imagine how hard it is to deal with this situation. May you have him home happy and smiling very soon.

    another update

    Hi again,
Well I'm home for the night, about to past out so if I misspell abunch of stuff, sorry.:)
Dana is spending the night with Liam tonight. Liam is doing better every few hours, the color came back to his face, he got up & walked around the 5th floor. Doctors gave him the OK to start clear liquids tomorrow, the cut looks real good, starting to scab up, I gross out at that kind of stuff but it's not so bad, it was the 2nd thing I did after I went into post op, 1st was give him a Big ol' kiss & told him I loved him. He will be taken off the Morphin drip tonight/tomorrow, then given Tyelnol 3 for the pain, he's been good about the pain only had the Morphin 3 times today, I kept asking if he wanted it he kept saying no, the he would finally say he wanted it.
I have to tell ya all again Thanks a bunch for all the good thoughts & wishes.
    :beer :beer :beer
Cheers to you all & good night
    Beth

    Dana,

My "Good Vibes" are useless to you, but I'll certainly PRAY like crazy for Liam and your family. :TU:

I have 4 year old twins. I almost lost my son to a respiratory virus when he was 2 years old. Pray man. It works.
