Oil flowing just not enough Bill for
50psi idling. No biggie to jack up eng, and drop starter, new starter needs another half shim anyway. Should have pulled pan Before I put eng in.
    Thanks Bill

Got 17 bolts off pan this eve. Doesn't look like I need to drop starter.
2 Threw Bolts and jack up a little next. Thanks Bill

Yep... two blocks between the motor mounts and yer home free! Dont kink the trans cooling lines, and within reason, try to get the trans all the way up into the hump. Our thoughts are with you! ws

Checking bearings and stuff too? Do a thrust check also.

Crud!! Should have dropped Pan before putting eng in, after setting for 30 years.
Bill or anyone know what the little light spring in Pan and tiny spring in Bypass are? Thanks 20180606_151128.jpg 20180606_151223.jpg

Id almost hafta guess that the big pcs. were rocker arm spacer springs; but on a Buick?? Maybe the PO installed one to keep the problem child in position? The smaller one on the pickup looks like a carb spring or OEM sabotage. Was that motor built during the famous UAW strike??? I really like the imprint in the sludge that the pick left when you pulled it away!

Great job! You gonna check everything while yer there now? ws

Thanks Bill. March of 1970. I want to put one of Mike's Low Restriction screens on but I can't find a number or place to order on his site.

I dunno... a clean screen and pan serviced a million+ cars. That fine mesh screen saved the aluminum oil pump housing $$$ ws

You really need to inspect a couple main and rod bearings while your under there.
