My old chebby It's a 86 chev 3+3 full load,GM 502 create motor,442 hp @ 5250 rpm and 513 ftlbs of torque @ 3500 rpm. 48,789 original miles the truck is almost like brand new. I'm collecting the parts to build a 455 for the truck,I think it will out tow the 502 and get better fuel mileage all day long. Hey maybe when I stick the buick in it I'll be able to remove the tint from the windows  Chris
She'll Git-r-done up hills or down (pac brake), but don't try to order fast food at the speaker while it's running. My god are these old 12 valve dodges noisy. supposedly good for 750K though!
Dont Laugh! 1998 Pontiac montana,3.4 auto/od trans.pulls great even on hills(no huge ones around here) Heaviest i pulled was a 72 lemans on our tandem axle car trailer.Just have to be careful on tongue weight! Nice big cooler keeps transmission in one piece.Next vehicle will be a crew cab 2500 chevy with duramax.[/IMG]
Well here was my first tow vehicle, 1984 Regal loaded... AC, rockin stereo, Cruise, 241 posi(great for interstate and mpg, not for quick et) and a 455 with aluminum intake. Great dailey driver/tow car...but not too safe.
Then I sold my regal but kept the motor and trans that I stuck in this 3/4 ton crew cab that I changed into a dually. Buick 455 truck was cool, but 10 mpg sucked.
Go Golf Go !! Last Saturday, cruising down the motorway in my 100.00 Euro Golf  (running on LPG ofcourse) , I spotted this Cadiwreck Atlante on the hard shoulder. Like always the electronics were messing up, so I offered the owner to tow him to a safe spot on a car-pool parking lot:
Here is our 95 C3500 that my late Father and I picked out together (our work truck).Dad is no longer around but I will never forget the thrill of the day we bought this truck after starting our company in 1973 with a 1970 model Oldsmobile 98 (455 of course! :Brow: ) with the back seat removed ou: . Anyhow here is a picture................................

Here's a little "retrospective" that I have been meaning to do ever since this post was started. I thought the progression was kind of cool. At first, everybody used to DRIVE their racecar to the track:
