Officially, at 8:00 am, we have almost 9" of that white fluffy stuff and it is still snowing!! And snow tomorrow and Monday! Just think - farmers love snow; city slickers hate snow.

We need snow. It does look like we might get some rain in the next week but you never know until it falls to the ground. We haven't had a winter yet. We just came back from the snow and my wife said she could live there for a month. I didn't ask if that was a month in a life time.
Smokey, I love the AARP bolts, I think I will order a partial set now and throw out what I don't need.

    Hi all,

Yeah eastern MI is way over their record total for the season, like 10 inches and counting, we are due rain next week as well, should make things a mess, hopefully it washes the snow away before it freezes again by next weekend

    Regards,

Snow banks are as high as I can recall! I hope it gets it out of its system so we have an early spring! The Skylark and I are waiting rather impatiently!!

Just to rub it in... It was a dreary day here in South Carolina; overcast with occasional sprinkles. Oh and it is only 68 degrees as I post this. Tomorrow expect 74!!! Then it takes a turn for brisk (LOL) 58 degrees. I might actually have to put on a long sleeve shirt.

So far this winter I have not used my snowblower. Biggest single snowfall has been maybe 3 inches, easily cleared with my shovel. Unfortunately, literally every other snow event has been of the "piss off variety". Just enough to slick up the streets, usually less than 1 inch. My driveway is 18 feet wide, and about 50 feet long and I clear it after every such snow event. Grrrrrr

It's also been quite cold here so far in 2018, but I don't mind.

It's a common occurrence on I94. I try my best to avoid that highway. Idiots drive about a car length from each other no matter the speed or weather conditions.

I personally hate the stuff, and we got a bit of a dusting last night. So far in February we've had our entire allotment of winter snow fall in 2 days. And it's cold too; there's an arctic vortex hanging around that refuses to go back up north where it belongs. So far it's been an average winter as far as cold goes, not too far off from the ones when I grew up. So where is all this climate change and global warming that's supposed to happen? I've bought flip-flops, shorts, own two convertibles and put A/C in the house in anticipation of the gloom and doom that was supposedly coming, and it looks like I'll freeze in the dark instead. They said back in 1995 that by 2020 it would be like Florida up here, I was kind of hoping for that, then I wouldn't have to move. As it is right now, it's more like Moscow here now, and I am going to have to move.
Last week, I drove my wife's new car out of Calgary during a blizzard. That was fun; they closed the main highway out and my GPS kept on trying to direct me on to it. It refused to look at an alternate and it refused to give anything for directions. So shut the damn thing off, ended up having to buy a paper map and even then it took me an hour and a half to get out of town. Who says modern technology is all it's cracked up to be?

When all was said & done, we had 12" of snow. My snow blower has been taking a beating but still hanging in. A couple of big tractors (Allis-Chalmers & a Massey) plowed the street & filled in the driveways, Saturday afternoon. More work!!

Tell me about it, you got our leftovers!!! My dam furnace took a sh!7 over a week ago and I have been waiting for the replacement part for going on 1 week!!!

What the flock happened to the US mail Creed; "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"? So there was a snow storm, if there is going to be a de-effing-lay why the flock can't they change their creed if they aren't going to abide by it?!!!

So why the flock was my part for my furnace from Ohio delayed so long?!!!(I'm in SE Michigan) They are saying it will be here tomorrow, we'll see!

You know how hard it is to heat your house with your oven? Not so hard if your a genius, good thing I have a space heater upstairs to keep me warm! LOL But seriously, heating my home the way I have been heating it hasn't been that hard with the oven and space heater when the temp is over 20*F, but unfortunately it has been getting below that at night!!!

Can't wait for the mail to get through and the weather to warm the flock up!!!

Be careful with that oven. A lot of house wiring may not take continuous use well. Fire is a real risk.

We are getting a bit of a reprieve from the snow for the next several days. Temps hitting the 40s as well. Even the possibility of some rain. With the snow of the ground, that could be a mess.

Sorry to be such a butt head, another hot and sweaty day in South Florida. Right now it is 74 degrees. High of 84 possible today. Mosquitoes were eating me alive last night in the garage. Luckily the 36 in. Home Depot fan keeps them off my legs while I'm working under the hood. Time to go in, take a cool shower, get dressed, and go to work. The A/C in my van is rolling the windows down. Today is a 2 window day or I will be sweaty when I get to work. Can't sweat, it wastes to much good beer that I drank last night. I feel for you "up north" people.
