Some pics of my metal art and furniture I make. Anybody else do this kind of stuff?

Not my art but way back when. My wife got me this for a birthday gift.
Lucas will probably be the only one that gets this.
She gave the artist a pic of me launching at a race. Right down to Glenn in his stance looking at my launch rpm. Before playback for 2strokes came out.

The artist bases everything around sparkplugs.

Yep, always at least a 2nd pair of eyes! Especially way back when waiting for the rubber band start gate to snap. Much too busy watching the starter. I like the ski tips up on the one launching.....those ski doos always dangled and drug the back of the skis ever so lightly (especially the f chassis).

Newest piece. Made this for my Mom after my Grandma died. What else you going to do with perfectly good Ford 360 rods?

I had one from Harbor Fright (like the $99.00 job) and the non adjustable blade guide rollers were set OEM at about .125" and the blades are about .06250". Needless to say I can get a straighter cut with a hack saw LOL. The cold saw I saw (?) ran at about 100 rpm with a wet carbide blade; almost no de-burring necessary. ws

Mine was $800 and thats a cheap one, I run starrett bi-metal blades and it cuts clean and accurate. Most workshop ones run a couple grand. I have worked in a shop that only used a cold saw like you mention and it was fine. .

A couple of years ago my wife and I were in San Diego for a vacation. We wound up in a little Knick-knack/craft store when I found this:

To give you an idea of how big this thing is, here is a can of Pepsi and a Reese’s. It weighs about 25 lbs!! We had fun getting through security with it because there was no way I was going to check it in my luggage!!

I can’t take credit for making it, but I will take credit for finding it and for recognizing a very cool piece of art/sculpture, and for buying it and lugging it all the way across the country!!

Then a couple weeks ago at the landfill, (the same landfill where I scored those two Kline Pontiac signs I posted about) I found this old rusty looking guy! I thought it was pretty cool! It’s about the same size as the bearing bike, and I don’t know if it was built with steam power in mind or if the stove looking thing on the seat is just the beginning of an unfinished torso!!
Again, I can’t take credit for creating it, but I will take credit for finding it in the pile and for having the contract at the landfill in the first place!

Table legs, mailbox post (done that with an old cragar ss for a base), anything that would use a straight post basically as that's all that one is at its basic form. Centerline at the back is exactly the same as the front. Endless possibilities :)
