Even though a 295/50/15 is not really recommended for an 8.5" rim...we may go with them on the back anyways, just because of the height.
Tire/rims now are a 225/75/14 all the way around. (27.29" overall height.)
    The 275/60 is 27.99" tall.
    The 295/50 is 26.61" tall.

I had a set of 15" X 15" Convo Pros back when I was about 20years old. Loved them then, and still love love now.
I was building a 72 GMC with a 4 link rear, 9" with 4:88 gears with a spool, Strange axels, coil overs, and camaro front clip...never had the money to finish it, and had to sell it all.

    Never outgrow this habit....or disease.

295 50's would work good with some 235's

Thats pretty much what we were thinking...
Now to decide on manufacture....BFG's are ridiculously priced.

    $404.00 shipped for two BFG's
$266.00 shipped for two Cooper Cobras.

Ordered a pair of Cooper Cobra 235/60/15, and a pair of the 295/50/15.
Cost for the four Cooper tires was only $60.00 more than a pair of BFG 295/50/15.:Do No:

Anyone ever port out these valve covers for a breather, and filler cap themselves? (I didn't get the machining done....doh!)

Nother snag....the SP-3 intake has lots of ports for water temp senor and heater hose....just in the wrong place.

The temperature sender unit is 1/2" npt, so that uses the one port on the passenger side...but the heater hose is 3/4"inside diameter, and the only other port on the passenger side front of the intake, is 3/8"npt.
If I use the 1/2" port for the heater hose, I need a different temperature sender...and then the hose would be in the way of the fuel line that needs to be run to the passenger side for the dual feed Holley.

I just got back from the farm supply shop.
They have the best selection of brass pipe fittings.
    They do not have a 3/8"npt x 3/4" barbed fitting...so I had to get a 3/8" npt x 1/2" npt female adaptor, and a 1/2" npt x 3/4" barbed connector.

Not sure if it's gonna look ok or not...

No, the heater hose that goes to the intake is 5/8. The 3/4" heater hose goes to the water pump. You have four 1/2 NPT holes. You can use any of them for the temperature sender.

The heater core is bypassed on this car, so it loops from the pump, back up to the intake manifold. (Guessing the heater core leaks.)

    Here is what we got:

Then why run any lines at all? Cap the unused holes and call it a day until you fix the heater core.

Made a run down to the States today, and picked up the rubber for the "new to us", rims.

Before, car had 225/75/14's all the way around...."Pizza Cutters"
