Depends how long it had been since she checked it, also possible it wasn't filled properly when changed. I don't one currently, I would not be afraid to buy one tomorrow, they were extremely popular with my customers as well, I will go with the consumers that owns them view over others. Companies that do not put out a good product do not grow at the rate Subaru has been growing, Subaru retains it buyers at a higher than average percentage and is pulling in new buyers

And on Keith’s Story if some one is negligent on oil changes. Hey that happens on all motors. That’s isolated . Not surprising

These STI our supposed to be race cars. Not station wagons going to the store or Bingo

    My Subaru history
For years I swore by them said Id never not have one ,the most amazing car in snow.
84 made over 300k k miles only issues after years of driving in our mountain passes had a lil rust due to the road deicer

bought a 91 legacy awd wagon was great car had a few maint issues but well over 100k until head

96 outback good car a few more maint issues but still swore by them at 90 k needed head gasket and cat converter put head gasket on sold car with bad converter

08 outback bought new loaded almost 30 k $, drivers headlight went out once a year wtf more annoying then anything, dealer swore no more head gasket issues , well maintained 6 years old 60 k miles head gasket went out. two years later smelling antifreeze again it was down the road
    each one got less reliable.
At that point Subaru lost my loyalty

You guys are making me nervous. 2011 base impreza. Well I was cruising at about 80 down the highway on the way to my school and the low oil level light came on. I panicked and brought the car to rest on the side of the road. I waited for the oil to sink back down into the pan, then started on my 100mile journey again. I stopped three times so that the oil could drain back down.

First thing I did when I found an auto parts store the following morning was throw in a quart. Scared me sh*tless cause I'd heard of the issues these engines have. My friend in high school went through 3 engines in just over 1.5 years. I really enjoy the car, I treat it nicely, it gets the job done, and I'm approaching 60k miles, so.....
As I like to say "We'll see"

I think the nature of the boxxer engine also helps with consuming oil. They put it in the owners manual. Mine would eat a quart about every 4K miles and that’s when I changed the oil in it.
