Hi y'all, Looks like I'll make it tomorrow at least until 5pm. Anyone know what time to get to the track in the morning? Today I'll be picking up my new tires (Thanks Rusty!) and I need to have them mounted in the morning before I leave home. Another question...is spectator admission free again? I'm bringing my son and possibly some friends too. They had a lot of fun last year watching the various cars running. Thanks! See ya, Paul
What a great race. Nice mix of cars and just a fun race. Yvonne came close to a new personal best with a 12.57 Thanks to everybody that helped put this race on and to all that came and raced/ watched
WHAT HE SAID ! :TU: Thanks Rob and Tom Clary for putting it on. Realize it must take an awful amount of work and effort on your part, and I thank you. And it's always nice to see my childhood dream car " RED ALERT
We too had a ball! Some cool 1970's funny cars, but the top fuel teams practicing was a added treat. Mid 4's @ 311 mph. Always good to get some nitro tears. We took the Deuce on it's maiden voyage, and manged to whittle off 4 seconds off our two first runs by the time the day was over. Good chance we will have it at Stanton, but we need some more tuning. It's a non purpose built car like Daves, but we managed 17 seconds off the trailer(twice). Peter
Thanks Rob and Tom!!! All things considered, I still had a good time. Wish I could have taken advantage of the cooler night temps and the 2.0 60s I was getting, but seems I'm well on my way to a 17 sec car to compete with some of you guys . Changing the fouled plugs helped, as did the clogged fuel filter. But I'm still having fuel issues. Hopefully I can get it figured out before Stanton.
I just wanted to extend a personal "THANK YOU" to my fellow Pure Stockers that came out to Rt. 66...:beer
Had a great time at Route 66, even if the car ran really bad on the track. First time that has happened to me...trouble at the track with the car, but luckily it was just a worn set of plugs and a new rotor to get the H/O back in top form. Road tested and PSMCDR approved! After installing these, it pulled hard to redline in third on the Interstate 1/4 mile lol. It doesn't get any more pure stock than this folks...they even have the 4 green rings on them. See y'all next week! Paul
